When the Navy decoms ships they often donate some portions of the hull or insides to other facilities like Great Lakes RTC/NTC or even a local reserve unit. The Island to my ship ended up like that donated to a Navy training school I think in the midwest. Idaho is the Nuke Propulsion Training Facility that likely was the factor for you. Oh and there's a huge Gemini ?? rocket standing at a rest area in Alabama believe it or not. I remember seeing it back in my trucking days.
