I was taken aback by what the drive-by media claimed the Pope said, but I read what the Catholic sources had to say, and it sounded much like what hobbes said-I will reserve my opinion for now, because of the big, ticking issues that seem about to go off-when I pray these days, I start with the sign of the Cross and say God please bless and save us...

God IS the answer. This Pope, i’m not so sure. In the end times there is supposed to be a bad pope. I don’t know. A happy slappy, i’m ok, you’re ok Pope doesn’t sound terribly threatening, but it may be that lukewarm does more damage. I am also reserving judgement, but i am not encouraged despite what all i have read.

This doesn’t seem so happy slappy.

I am reserving judgment for now.

As I said, the matter of assignment, and organization are ...management mattters,, and under the prior Pontiff it seems lefty Cardinals and Bishops were moved, and replaced by more conservative men..

Will that continue, who knows, but it was addressed in his remarks, which is tellling that its on his mind, though without a clue as to direction.

I sometimes think about the signs of the end times-like those concerning the Church, the last Pope etc... I began at a young age to go to God when chaos descends, for courage, and to find the way out-simplistic, but it has kept me from the dark many times.

If all this chaos comes ultimately to a fight, I’m more than ready-I’ve been ready for the revolution since I was 14-obviously, my parents allowed me to hear conversations and to read books that were not age-appropriate-like Atlas Shrugged and the like...

And since it is raining and the mood is dark, I’ve been listening to some Doors...

“This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end
Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I’ll never look into your eyes...again”

You can never go wrong going to God in good times or bad. I told xs teen and her fiancé this AM, that God put them in each others lives, He put him in the new job(yeoman prayer work went into that one! Months on end!) and that God needed to be central to the wedding planning as well. Today we secured both the church and reception venues and xs teen had the most marvelous idea for a dj. A guy we know well who announced the Gonzaga hockey games does some Caps announcing does DJ ing as well, and he will make it extremely personal bc he knows our family well. Not bad for 48 hrs elapsed since he proposed!

48 hours? We don't even have a DJ yet.

Congrats!

What about a bridal dance? Cash in the bag, shot of whiskey, dance with the bride.

I forgot about the dollar dance-actually, it has been $5 since around the time I got married to my first husband-five bucks for one dance with the bride-guys only-or groom-gals only-the groom or bride gets handed the $5, they put it into the bag they have tied on one wrist, they dance, and after everyone who wants a dance has had one, the money gets counted-we got enough for a new ‘fridge to replace the ancient one in the house we’d bought. My daughter and her husband collected enough for living room furniture.
