I've been promising a Texas Lt. Governor primary thread for a while. This thread is for discussion of the merits of primary candidates for the office of Lt. Governor of the State of Texas.

Looks like Susan Combs has dropped out and Dan Patrick (the state senator) has thrown his hat in the ring.
Staples is reported to have $3M, to Dewhurst's $1.7M.

My Sis in Texas likes Todd Staples. Very solid on immigration and a backbone like steel. She says he could be another Ted Cruz.
I believe she told me he is the agriculture commissioner. Anyone who can stand up to the cheap labor lobby on their own turf is A-OK in my book.

One of the reasons for the thread is to get information on the policy positions of the candidates. I'm making open carry in Texas one of my touchstones this election. Our gun laws are awful, compared to some of the yankee states.
