The National Football League and its teams will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 - October 15) with a series of special events focused in week 3 of the season.
All NFL teams will enhance the celebration with local efforts throughout the month including designated home games with in-stadium themed elements and local community outreach in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.

The NFL has ONLY one Latino coach. The Carolina Panthers NC Ron Rivera is Puertorican who attended Cal, HELLO? BTW I despise the Hispanic term.period.
cool.
puerto rico is not the island of Hispaniola. there for he is not Hispanic...he is puerto rican. dummies. people from mexico are not Hispanic...they are Mexican.. please be smarter than the TV or the high school that blinds you.
well, someones gotta rotate my tires and sweep my yard.
Tony Romo? Surely has some ethnicity outside of TX
Awesome!
Lots of different cultures come into the mix in the NFL.
Here's the logo they're using for this:
That’s crazy.
Its understandable in major league baseball and they’ve done it for years but I wasn’t aware there were a whole lot of hispanics in the NFL.
Erm, isn’t an NFL team a de facto ‘outreach’ program for the city/region in which it plays?
If you see someone wearing an NFL jersey, do you attempt to ascertain the team, the player (from the number/name) or do you attempt to determine the ethnic background of the player? The question answers itself, of course.
Even when they have an item, an activity or an entity that already represents and promotes unity - in this case a sports team - liberals want to divide by race. The Germans, the Afrikaners, the Khmer Rouge, the Turks - modern leftists are as racially-focused as any of these historically notorious groups.
There are a number of comments on the NFL’s website noting that particular elephant in the room. The absence of
Aaron Hernandez in the list of Hispanics involved with the NFL is quite telling.
ethnic background of the player => ethnic background of the wearer.
Muy loco
Insanity.
Playing to their fans.
In the early 1980’s, long before such terms as “celebrate diversity” became popular in the MSM, the Oakland Raiders won two Super Bowls with Tom Flores as their head coach, and Jim Plunkett as their starting quarterback.
I’d like to see the league celebrate hispanic heritage month by successfully lobbying to get these two men into the football Hall of Fame.
Do we get to jump the fences and sit where ever we want? And jump the lines at consessions and get everything for free?
"Latino" is just as vague. What, based on the European language, "Latin"? How does that translate into a disadvantaged brown-skinned dark-eyed minority?
It is all a bunch of horse poop. Americans of every color and political party know it. It's why you see them flying American flags all over the place. The Americans are getting restless.
well seeing as whites are a minority too does this mean that they will have a white Euro month and let that be celebrated?
I am 2nd generation American of Mexican ancestry but I also have European blood due to my great grandmother who is Spanish. Many Mexicans have Spanish heritage.
In fact, I have a cousin on my mother’s side saying he is a proud Latino. I am like “WTF!” I don’t recall any family member from South America.
Also 2 days ago I was applying for a admin position at a college and I became furious because what they have done.
Ok they had nationality and Race. So I put Hispanic and for Race I place White...White Hispanic whatever that is. Then another section appeared and it says HM-Hispanic, HM - Other Hispanic. I was so pissed I have no clue what that meant. So I just stopped and did not submit my application. I am not going to put up with this crap.
Will they get Aaron Hernandez to be their spokesperson?
Here’s another Hispanic they can celebrate:
Rafael Septien
A Dallas County, Texas, grand jury indicted him January 22, 1987, on a charge of mishandling of a minor. Septien pleaded guilty on April 8, 1987, to a charge of indecency with a child in an agreement with prosecutors that brought him a sentence of ten years of deferred probation and a $2,000 fine.[5] He was released by the Cowboys a week later. He never played professional football again.
There aren’t, which is why they want more, which is why they reach out. Highest attendance game ever was in Mexico City so there’s the clearly potential, but “potential” in business means “money we aren’t getting”.
So, are they begging for Sir Alex to return yet?
He was cut before training camp, he is not involved with the NFL.
