This thread seems as good as any to vent a little bit and I definitely need to.

It's obvious we are not only battling the GOP-elite but FOX-elite as well. Britt Hume and Charles Krauthammer and the rest of 'em can stuff it. They were laughing at Ted Cruz on their snobby little media roundtable tonight.

Then there was Georgie Bush saying he thought Obomber should play golf because he understands...it relieves the pressure. I considered throwing a shoe at my television but I wasn't certain of my aim.

Don't even get me started on the "citizens air force" doing the flyover for a memorial service held for two pilots shot down in Vietnam whose remains were identified only last year because "the government" couldn't afford to honor them. The "sequester" was blamed. I say we sequester the presidency and ground Obummer and his entire celebrity entourage.

"Senator McConnell supports the House Republicans' bill and will not vote to block it..."

Translation: McConnell will vote yes, when Democrats need 60 yeas.

"He will also vote against any amendment that attempts to add Obamacare funding back into the House Republicans' bill."

Translation: McConnell will vote no when Democrats only need 51 yeas.

McConnell is such a two faced SOB. Filibuster is the minorities card to oppose unwanted action by the other party. Reid’s stated intention is to strip the defunding language and replace it with his own funding language. If members voted to filibuster, it would have taken 60 votes to stop it. Reid might be hard pressed to get the votes. Now McConnell allows Reid to just blow right by this hurdle. No procedural opportunity should be waived but that is McConnell busy undermining Cruz and Lee. You got to wonder if Reid, McConnell and Boehner have cooked this all up in the back room.

It drives me nuts when Republicans get mad and switch their registration to "Independent" or some other non-winner classification.

You lose your right to make a difference in a primary or special election if your state has closed primaries. Next primary election day, a Tea Party candidate may be running against a RINO serial killer....and if you're in the wrong state, and dumped your GOP registration, you can't vote. This just plays into the enemy's hands. How stupid can Republicans be when they pull this?

Last week we had a district election for a Florida state representative to fill a GOP seat which became empty by a resignation. There were three GOP names on the ballot. I voted for the conservative. Only registered Republicans could vote, no registered Independents, Democrats, Libertarians, Vegetarians, Rotarians....... no one but REGISTERED REPUBLICANS !

I'm happy....the conservative won and is in a good position to beat a looney Democrat woman rival....but his victory was in spite of and with no thanks to disaffected Republicans staying at home, nursing their various grievances against the GOP.

Changing a registration from Republican may make one feel all warm, fuzzy, and cleverly superior, but in this battle for our very survival we only win by outsmarting the enemy.

Stroking one's own ego in the matter of voter registration is just plain self-defeating and pulls us all down into the abyss right along with the disgruntled quitters.

We don’t have closed primaries here in Massachusetts, and I am not a Republican.

Just curious why you are voting FOR the GOP? What exactly have the done to earn your vote?

FRiend, you really have no place to brow beat other conservatives who refuse to vote for the GOP if they refuse to be an opposition party to Democrat policies. I do not support or vote for those who will not vigorously defend my constitutional rights. Right now, the GOP leadership has shown on a number of issues that they have no interest at all in supporting Main Street. However, they will happily stab conservatives in the back and take your plantation vote at the ballot box.

Not in Nebraska, which is why I switched from independent to R for this last election. In MN indpendents could vote in either primary and there were some decent dem primary candidates so it was worth my while to register as independent.

If we’re allowed to have another election I’ll probably remain R so I can vote in the primary but if there was a Constitutional party, perhaps led by Palin and Cruz, I’d vote for them in a heartbeat.

The final blow for me was when Chris Wallace stated on his show Sunday the tons of opposition research the Republicans were feeding him on Cruz.

If Moran (My senator) has a primary challenger, I would consider switching back just before to vote; but after the primary, I’m back to Independent.

Sick of being lied too, told I count only when they want money, and being sold out on Capital Hill nearly ever single freaking day by the party that is supposed to fight for the values and ideals I believe in.
