But my eyes!!! It felt like someone had dragged a cheese grater across my eyeballs when I saw the iOS 7 home screen, with its horrendous icons that looked like they were designed by Lisa Frank! Yes, the iOS 7 beta comes perilously close to looking like Lisa Franks Stuff Girls Love site.

ping!
Countdown until the arrival of Apple hating trolls -— 4...3...2...1
That would make a great haiku if you edited it.
IOS 7 installed for me without a hitch. (iphone 5) But the improvements are not very refined, although welcome and the look of the new icons and groups is hideous. Apple, it appears, is now chasing Samsung instead leading with class and innovation.
Battery is running out faster, I agree.
How did you make iOS 7 look like iOS 6?

Here ya go:
Apple shows Steve is gone.
Three days to get settings right.
Battery dies faster.
I really hate to say this but Apple iOS 7 appears to be Windows 8 in appearance. I hate both.
So far I notice that I can no longer hit snooze on my alarm despite the fact that the option is set, and it’s nearly impossible to create/edit entries on my blog as the cursor doesn’t work properly in blogger’s text box.
Is running out much faster
Agree. But "software writers gone wild" is a common theme at tech companies.
iOS 7 works fine on my phone, the 4 version.
For those complaining about reduced battery life, it is because the new OS adds an background app refresh feature. Disable it and you will have your phone working the way it used to, on 6.
I liked iOS 7 except for the changes made to Safari.
Maybe over time I'll get to appreciate the changes, but not at the moment.
Another gripe is how Safari automatically goes to the expanded screen instead of allowing the user the option.
Bottom line, though, is it would take a lot worse than this to get me to move away from Apple.
I like the UI changes, the iPhone UI needed a refresh. But PhoneGap-based apps which were slow on IOS 6.1 are even slower now, especially on the iPhone 4.
IMO, this fingerprint ID business is stupid. Voice recognition with pass-phrases would be a better way of securing the phone. The phone already centers around voice communications. If Siri can answer questions, however stupidly, it surely ought to recognize a voice and pass-phrase. Pass-phrases could be tailored, such that some users (children) may have limited abilities like no purchases or no international calls.
The easiest, most natural way to interact with a computer would be by voice. Much easier that swiping, taping, & typing. Why should you even need to LOOK at the phone to do something? Complete voice control should be the goal.
Apple was headed that way with Siri, but now their thinking seems fractured.
I cannot believe the gnashing of teeth over this update. It took me all of about 2 days to adjust to the few changes in the OS.
If people don’t like it, go buy a Windows Phone.

Great idea, except Siri needs to have cellular or network connection to operate. How do you get into your phone when there’s no commo?
Apple shows Steve gone.
Three days to match old phone look.
Battery dies too fast now.
