I think it was a combination of lookie-loo’s and those looking for their FREE healthcare coverage. People who actually had intentions of paying for monthly coverage were few and far between.
If Obamacare had been an initiative of a Republican administration, the NYT would be characterizing today’s performance as a “total collapse.”
wow. you think they’d make up better numbers than that.
With 70 -to- one odds the bookies must be really busy in Vegas!
Sticker shock. If the price was right, they would have bought.
The “rush”?
LMBO!!
And the other 5,000 visits were from whom, if not people? I presume aliens, but of the illegal kind or of the ET kind?
No doubt. Even that only attracted ~70K in Obama's most recent home state of Illinois (population ~12 million) or a percentage of 00.583% who even visited the site. Those that actually signed up? Per the article only ~1,100, or 00.00092%
5,000 people visited the site more than once. Or 5,000 computers were used by different people to access the site. ?
Some website is collected LIV Tweets about healthcare.gov.
They all seemed to echo a similar theme:
1. It's not "FREE". Bummer.
2. It's way too expensive for me. I just lost my job and I can't afford $3600.
3. If I don't buy insurance, I've got to pay a $95 fee???!!! What the hell is that all about?
But mostly...
4. The system sucks. Couldn't go anywhere.
Make that 00.092%, sorry, too busy laughing to move the decimal 2 places for %.
Perhaps. Just curious they would through those numbers out there, without an explanation, knowing people would wonder about the difference.
Not only that, but how dare the Democrats refuse to negotiate over what is such as obvious failure.
And even with minimal traffic, a number of the websites failed. How lame is that! A web site we can handle 70,000 visitors per day and around 1000 logins or accounts is not much of a website traffic wise.
Agreed. As I heard on FOX tonight, after 3 years and a basically unlimited budget to implement the website(s), there's really no excuse for 'technical' failure. Per this article though, the NY Times has let it slip that it wasn't an actual overload today, but a tiny amount of actual people who were even visiting, much less signing up after they saw the cost.
Colorado obamacare site is royally broken right now. Can’t do anything without creating an account, which is impossible because the “Create Account” button takes you to the same page as the “Login” button.
Did manage to look at some of the plan terms, though. People are going to be blown away at the costs. Pretty much around $600.00/month for an individual for a low end plan with around $5,000.00 deductible and $6,000.00 out of pocket. That’s $13,000.00 per year for an individual. Hardly “affordable” is it? Can’t imagine a young, healthy person being interested in that. Better to just pay the fine and buy insurance only when you get really ill. Of course, that’s exactly what almost everyone will end up doing, which of course will crash the system. Which of course was exactly what Obamacare was designed to do. Just not this quickly, not right before the 2014 elections.
If the House Pubs can hang tough for another week, the entire country will be begging them to stop this train wreck.
The subsidies generally make it less, the problem is I think you get refunded after tax time. Few people can afford those premiums up front.
Which means people will be borrowing money to pay premiums with expectation of paying the loan back with their tax refund ?
In other words, the Kenyan manchild was saying, "I did that?" Yup! You put a hell of a lot of people out of work and made them dependent on your BIG government's freebies and handouts. Wait until you commie kid buffoons up in the District of Corruption pass amnesty. That should just about do it for America.
Okay now we will try the landline # 1-800-318-2596 listed above:
