Why is CNN in all Airports?
Vanity | Jim Noble

Posted on 10/02/2013 7:14:27 AM PDT by Jim Noble

I don't travel much, but right now I'm in the A Concourse at Atlanta and I fu**ing cannot get away from CNN. It's everywhere, spewing propaganda about children suffering from Head Start being shut down.

Haven't they heard that Head Start is a fraud and a colossal waste?

Seriously, this experience is like the telescreen in 1984. Only members of the Inner Party can shut it off, and there's no members around right now.

I think I'll go to the chapel and say a few prayers for JimRob.

When I am in a hotel and CNN is on, I ask for a change and, often, they respond.

IMO ubiqitous tv screens droning an endless loop of bs is eye and ear pollution.

Its an insult to architecture.

Its aesthetically putrid.

Years ago, I worked with the Jr High kids in my church.
I had a kid, who lived in an EXTREMELY affluent area. He was the youngest child, by quite a bit and quite spoiled.

He had a wrist watch, by Casio IIRC, that could control tvs and vcrs or dvd players.
When the teacher would put a video in for the kids to watch, he'd turn the machine off when the teacher walked away. The teacher would start the video again and when she'd walk away, the same thing. Then when she went back to start it, the video would start playing again.

Oh to be able to do something like that at an airport. But there are probably some laws in place making it a federal offense to change a tv station from the party designate. There is probably some type of Homeland Security law about using a non authorized remote control device in an airport.

I think CNN pays the airports or supplies the TVs.

No law required. Try to get one through TSA. The TVs are all at the gates...after you pass TSA.

I purchase the commercial package from DirecTV for this place(Non Profit-Eudcational). I decide what the Monitors are set to display. I just had to fill out a form showing how many units are displaying and an approx. number of viewers. We get a monthly bill just like a home system.

If they are using DirecTV I can assure you, any place you see the Commie News Network, it is by choice of the Establishment. They can switch it to Fox or the other Network feeds any time.

Product talks about a coffee table of remotes, but I presume it would also be a carry-on baggage of remotes as well...

A coffee table full of remotes on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Isn’t it obvious?

CNN is the network for “fellow travellers” ;)

I don’t care about the content or the pictures, I just dislike the noise. I’d love to carry a “mute” remote to silence them (let the interested travelers read the closed captioning). They should at least have a “No CNN” section where the sound wasn’t being piped through the ubiquitous ceiling speakers.

It’s even at my local mall. It’s the propaganda outlet of choice.
