I work for Uncle Sam, and I’m proud of it
The Washington Post ^ | 10/2/2013 | Jason Ullner

I am a federal bureaucrat. A professional government employee. And guess what? I’m damn proud of it.

It seems that all I hear these days are the once and future leaders of our country tripping over themselves to denigrate the work we do. I’m tired of it, and I’m fed up. I don’t claim to represent anyone other than myself, but I would bet that a fair number of federal employees feel as I do.

We are lawyers, doctors, PhD students, economists, writers, electricians, construction workers, security officers and technology specialists. We are not a drain on the national economy; rather, we are a primary reason why the United States remains as great as it is.

"Why does any private business need government help?"

To prevent new, small competition from starting new manufacturing on U.S. soil. Government enforces anti-competition laws for them, even in county governments in unpopulated areas. Federal funding is a main staple of state and local governments.

It seems that Mr. Indespencable has forgotten the raises that he has recieved most likely with Yearly bonuses that are in the 4 to 5 figure level over the past few years while the average Wage in Private sector has fallen considerably...and then there is that little NeroCare Waiver that schields him from felling what the rest of us are going or about to go thru with our Healthcare.

LMBO!!!
Lemme guess... an EPA lawyer sent out ot arrest people for wood stoves?
A "civl rights" division lawyer sent out to sue businesses for not meeting racial quotas, or sue states for demanding voters have the same ID they need for their welfare?
A Mengelecare "navigator"?

Beat it, Bunky. Get a job.

None of these drones produce anything. They only consume.

There’s your problem right there.

“I work for Uncle Sam . . . “ This is exactly why you are despised! In fact, you work for the American people who pay your wages, pension funds, and health care for you and your family!!!!!

Find somewhere else to look for sympathy on your layoff, you will have a hard time getting any American who agrees with you since there are more than nine (9) million Americans UNEMPLOYED who cannot provide for their families at all!!!

Cry me a river you federal rat!!

Then why aren’t they at work today? Is it because they have no pride or no paycheck?

Some of you are wonderful Americans... some of you are treasonous bastards and bitches that would sell your souls for the dimrat party. Some of you have lied under oath... some of you have conspired to violate the civil rights of Conservatives... some of you have organized public service unions that have caused you to make far more money and gain benefits that are greater than anything that you can get in private business... all the while bankrupting the federal budget... and you overwhelmingly vote for rats.

You obviously don’t know very many government workers or the nature of their jobs.

I don’t fault anyone for taking a government job. I have been a government employee and I have had to make a payroll in the private sector. What amazes me is how government workers pretend that they don’t know where the money for their paycheck comes from. It comes from workers in the private sector or it comes from borrowed money. If you take money from a private worker to pay a government employee, then the private worker has to give up things. Maybe the private worker could buy a new car if it wasn’t for taxes. Maybe the private worker could pay for college for his/her children. The private worker must sacrifice in order to pay the government employee’s paycheck. Now, the government employee doesn’t need to kiss the private worker’s donkey, but they could be a little more cognizant of where the money for their pay comes from.

+1, LLS. The vast majority of the people I work with are talented, hard working individuals.

We also understand that our working conditions and benefits are superior to what we left in the private sector. That alone has been enough to put up with the normal BS that we encounter.
