Its hard to watch any sporting event without seeing a commercial featuring a star athlete such as Peyton Manning or LeBron James.
Now, a study published on Oct. 7 in Pediatrics shows that a lot of the foods they are promoting are unhealthy, concerning pediatricians because adolescents are among their primary viewers.
Professional athletes wouldnt endorse tobacco today because it would be a liability for them, lead study author Marie Bragg, a doctoral candidate in psychology at Yale University, told the Globe and Mail. Were hoping one day that the same would be true for unhealthy foods.

I think there are worse things than a hamburger to worry about, if we’re going to worry about celebrity influence on children.
I think it’s the parents responsibility to set the rules, not the government.
How much did this study cost us?
They did a study and found that advertising works? I’m sure the ad companies and product manufacturers are shocked at this new information. They probably had no idea.
Good. Maybe I can sue the Bob Richards estate because even though I ate a lot of Wheaties when I was a kid, I never grew up to be the shortstop for the Milwaukee Braves or quarterback for The Green Bay Packers.
And this study inadvertently proves that it’s important for children to have PARENTS!
