dictionaries ad nauseam | 17 October 2013 | Thursday's sub

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

dissilient \dih-SIL-ee-uhnt\ , adjective
bursting apart; bursting open

Example sentences:
I imagined the dissilient pod of rumours a creative bureau chief up for promotion might hatch. Stories, once sprung, would snowball out of control, growing more damaging with each repetition.
-- Susan Daitch, L.C., 2002

The court was dissilient, generationally fractured, manned (as it were) by an increasingly impatient and acquisitive nobility.
-- Eric Scott Mallin, Inscribing the Time, 1995

Etymology:
Dissilent comes from the Latin word dissilīre meaning "to leap apart."

The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

I think of it as Ann Margaret, The Movie, but I know what you mean. It’s odd, but fun enough. Hell, you a band a camera in the late 60s/early 70s you’re going to get freaky stuff and people determined to outdo each other. At least the music works for me. You?

The “conventional wisdom” is that dissidents Cruz & Lee have caused dissilience in the Republican Party, otherwise things would have been JUST fine…

Obama and his minions bought
Just a few more harried weeks-
But now he looks juvenile
Every time he even speaks

All the dissilient promises
Of Obamacare are on display
Thanks to the good old internet-
And now no one wants to play

It is shown to be a disaster-
And the only thing that’s “free”
Is the chance for criminals
To steal anyone’s identity...

I would have been fine with them keeping 17% shutdown indefinitely. Except for the political posturing at the parks. Trey Gowdy told their boss off but good about it in yesterday's hearing. A for you.

GMTA. Smash the Mirror! And Today it Rained Champagne.

But the collection of artists, is pretty good. A very listenable soundtrack...

Claptons cover os Sonny Boy Williamson’s “Eyesight to the blind. With the Who playing behind himis amazing. Best on the album.

Yup that guy looks like he needed a change of shorts.

But his lib masters probably never considered that.

Its one thing to put a political appointee in front of Congress.

Doing it to a career guy, is despicable.

No, and thats really my point. He’s a careerist, who has to tale orders, not a fellow traveller.

Speak up, lose your career.

Don’t do it...Lose your career.

Man was in an untenable position. He has been in that operation for close to 40 years.....
