This map is predicting 4 to 8 degrees below zero for Maryland in late October? I have a hard time believing that. It doesn’t even get that cold in January here.

I can’t really read the numbers on the image. I was looking at the overall path of the cold polar air.

Not sure but I believe that is a departure from normal scale. Certainly the SW is not going to be 24 degrees.
