Ironic ping.
Ohhhhhh...
Go run in greener pastures....
Poor baby.
100# seems pretty heavy for a Lab and choosing to neuter at age 10 doesn’t make a lot of sense, either. Surprised a vet agreed to do it...definitely sad, though.
poor thing probably heard what they were about to do to him...
I might have committed suicide as well, if I were to awaken to the fact that someone I trusted had taken all reason to live away from Me.
And people think we are joking when we blokes mention that it kind of takes away our will-to-live...
The pup saw all those other dogs running in a pack, so he felt he had to join in too.
If I was a Hindu I might say he could have been the re-incarnation of Pheidippides.
Boogie you can eat all you want now. And hopefully heavens got some big fields to run around in. And ponds to jump in.
What are you talking about?
Funny photo.
We have a neighbor that has a 3 year old Great Dane. It’s a VERY large dog. The neighborhood kids play with Hank (including my own) and Hank likes to play. What’s funny is that when the kids leave the back yard, Hank stands at the short chain link fence and whines and whimpers. The dog could almost step over the fence and doesn’t seem to realize it.
Really sad. I wonder if he had an underlying heart condition.
I had a veterinarian who said that dogs don’t develop atherosclerotic processes the way people do. Maybe he had a structural defect. I don’t know much about that.
Hindus believe in reincarnation. “Pheidippides , fl. 490 BC, semilegendary Athenian courier sent to Sparta to request help when the Persians landed at Marathon. He ran 150 miles....” from www.encyclopedia.com
As I read your post, visualize me on your street corner passing out complimentary copies of “The Purpose-Driven Life.”
Tip one: If you see a dog running a half marathon and you’re passing a water station, PUT DOWN WATER and wait for the dog to drink.
Tip two: If your dog runs a half marathon without water, do not take it out for surgery in the week that follows.
Alas, hearing from some of the runners who ran next to this dog (and outraced almost all of them), while people grabbed cups for themselves at water stations, no one grabbed any for the dog. The only ‘hydration’ that anyone saw the dog get on course was someone poured a cup of water on him, and then at the finish line he was given a good amount of water.
Unfortunately, that was likely too late and he needed more intensive medical care at that point, even if he appeared fine.
