Auburn pulls out thrilling win over Manziel, Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Nick Marshall accounted for four scores and No. 24 Auburn battered Johnny Manziel in a 45-41 win over No. 7 Texas A&M on Saturday.

Tre Mason's 5-yard score with less than 2 minutes to play was first placed at the 1, but it was reviewed and ruled a touchdown.

A&M (5-2, 2-2 SEC) had a last chance, but Manziel, the Heisman Trophy winner, was sacked by Dee Ford on fourth down to secure the win.

Manziel threw for 454 yards and four touchdowns and ran for a fifth score, but was intercepted twice. He missed a series in the fourth quarter with an apparent injury to his right arm or shoulder. He returned but was constantly moving his right arm.

Marshall threw for 236 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 100 yards and two more scores for Auburn (6-1, 3-1), which lost 63-21 to the Aggies last season.

Texas A&M's Mike Evans had a school-record 287 yards receiving with four touchdowns to become the first player in school history to have two, 200-yard receiving games in a career. He scored on receptions of 26, 64, 42 and 33 yards.

Auburn entered the game leading the SEC with 287 yards rushing a game and piled up 379 yards rushing against the Aggies. Mason led the way with 178 yards and Corey Grant added 45.

Manziel connected with Evans for his fourth TD on a 33-yard pass -- that Auburn was called for pass interference on -- giving A&M a 31-24 lead late in the third quarter.

Manziel was injured when he was tackled on an 8-yard run early in the fourth quarter.

See what happens when you get rid of a bad coach?

Are you listening Jeremy Foley?

Yeah, thanks to a missed horsecaller penalty with 18 seconds left. Bob

I have to say I was surprised Mizzou beat the gators.

They are not south or east!

Great Game!!! War Eagle!

Things are looking pretty good for the Iron Bowl game this year. Now after this . . . watch out Roll Tide. They only took a small pep band to College Station today so being a sophomore . . . she didn’t get to go.

I’d love for my daughter who is in the marching band at Auburn, second year, to get to go to a bowl game or even the National Championship! What a turn around from last season.

She’s had friends from high school that we ahead of her get to go and play in the half time show for Auburn, and a few more to Alabama x 2 championships and sure would be sweet for Auburn to go again!

I knew Mizzou would kill us.

Muschamp has lost the team. You could see it on the sideline, he can’t coach.

Looks like Mizzou vs Bama/Auburn for the SEC Title. LSU is losing to Ole Miss.

With all the cameras and reviews they missed it?

I guess the fake fall down injury by A&M was missed too so who knows?

It was a good game. I don’t like the outcome but it is what it is.

I like both teams just about the same. My guess was that A&M would come back and win in the last minute.

It didn’t happen and Auburn deserved their win.

Yup, I didn’t know Mr. Ma Goo was allowed on the college football fields without his Coke bottle glasses. Bad call by the refs on that one.

War Eagle! We sent Clint Jr, and friend, to the Championship in Phoenix for his Christmas present back then.

Holy Carp! Ole Miss is kicking LSU arse!
