EUGENE -- No. 2 Oregon's long-awaited breast cancer awareness-inspired uniforms made their debut Saturday evening before the Ducks played Washington State at Autzen Stadium.
Oregon announced it would wear pink helmets, gloves and cleats earlier this week. Five helmets will be auctioned off bearing autographs of Ahmad Rashad, Mark Helfrich, Phil Knight, Joey Harrington and Dan Fouts.

These days, besides your regular attention whores looking for their 15+ minutes of fame, you’ve got the “giving back/awareness” crowd doing basically the same thing ...
Maybe it is the cynic in me, but with all these millions of dollars in donations and grants, are we any further along in the actual root cause of these diseases and the cure when that root cause is found? Sure, there have been advances, but is the delivery of these being paced out in such a way that still allows the money to keep flowing?
Oregon should change their team name to the “Dildos” because right now they look like giant ones!

The Oregon Ducks are ranked #2 in the nation. Who gives a crap what they wear on one game day; besides, it was just a gutting of the Cougars, so it was insult to injury (”we got beat by men in pink!”) IMHO.
Eugene is an extremely liberal college town. No matter what the Ducks wear for uniforms or custom helmets, someone bitches about how it is money that could be better spent, for example, by buying port-a-potties for the ubiquitous shanty town squatters downtown.
Perhaps the Ducks should become the Flamingos....
Remember a couple of years ago when the Susan G Komen Foundation, a major breast cancer research org, wanted to stop giving money to Planned Parenthood? There was a major uproar by all the libs.
Well at least they had the good taste to use the shade of Schiaparelli pink.
I hope FSU knocks them out of 2nd....And coming from me, that’s saying something.
If it helped them to win by 24 points, maybe ...
He, himself, was wearing a ribbon made from a folded dollar bill stating that it stood for Debt Reduction.
