Secession and Anti-Secession Ping and Prayer list
Stories and commentary both for and against secession.

To be added or taken off this list, please send a FR mail to RKBA Democrat. DISCLOSURE: I'm ANTI-secession in the sense of states seceding from the union, but I'll attempt to administer the ping and prayer list fairly for seceshers, ejectors, and anti-seceshers of Good Will. Search the keyword "secessionlist" to see previous articles and pings.

Lots of luck and please take the rest of New England with you. In fact take New York City, Detroit, seattle and California also.

In a Republic each state would be free to have as much government as they want. It does not need to be at the Federal level. The NY's CA's etc. could regulate to their little heart's desire.

But that would require Liberals being tolerant of other viewpoints being expressed in the other states, which they are not. They must impose their will on the masses and not allow a dissenting view, or having a relatively easy way out of their subjugation, like moving to another state with more freedoms.

So, they must do everything at the Federal level...

Exactly.
Our original republic was supposed to be almost like a “confederation” of independent countries, just joined together for supporting the bare minimum of overarching needs that should be addressed at the Federal level. But control freak liberals have to have their agenda pushed onto every state. If they would just let it go to that, and as you said, regulate and give entitlements to their hearts content in their states (without making the other states pay for their handouts) and leave the rest of us alone, we might actually be able to save the country from splitting up!

Vermont is a gorgeous state full of phonies-—and transplanted New Yorkers.

They love minorities-——as long as they stay away.

A March 2010 poll estimated 37 percent support for its basic agenda. But that figure has dropped, especially since the recent Tea Party-fueled government shutdown.

Ugh, I don't think this guy is playing with a full set of marbles.

So true.

This idiot even figured that out, somewhat:

Since past progressive reforms have failed to transform southern culture or conservative populists he suggested leaving them to “live by the values they prefer.” But that sounded a bit like saying it would be acceptable for almost half the US – or half the world, for that matter – to live under repressive conditions and various forms of fundamentalism

Tea Party activists have taken selected pages from the same play book, but so far appear to question the value of tolerance and peace.

hahahahahhhhahahaha

leftists are the least tolerant, most violent people around.

Hogwash, some oldtime conservative natives might fantasize about secession, but the rest of the state is infected with transplant dysfunctional progressive loons who’s sole purpose in life is to out California California. As to a new direction of deregulation in the ‘70s BWHAHAHA. Is he talking about when the Cambridge elite moved in and decided to use the VT legislature and courts as their personal toy to test their moronic theories on?

Thank you, RKBA! I’m sure I will. And hopefully, enlightening, too. (example, I had no idea about Vermont until pretty recently.)

Wasn’t “the Republic of Vermont” and entity early on, before Vermont became the 14th state?

“this author has ZERO idea of what conservatism is”

He’s not a conservative. The seceshers in VT (generally speaking) aren’t conservative by any stretch of the imagination.

Vermont became independent from the crown in 1777 and didn’t join the union until 1791. It’s evident that there was an intent to join the union, but due to some land squabbles with NY it didn’t happen until later.

Kind of an odd situation from what I’ve read and analogous to the situation in Texas where the Texians became independent from Mexico for a time before later joining the union.
