Exactly. There are many short memories here.
This particular bill is not the one that the house progressives wanted, they wanted single payer or at least a single payer option.
They were forced to pass the Senate version of bill with some $$ changes (budget reconciliation) because they couldn't get a 60 vote in the Senate a second time.
So there is no public plan. So the personal mandate is a joke. And they are forced to defend it anyway because they own it.
And the bill is sooo massive and requires so much that a smooth rollout wasnt going to happen.
Now they are left with claiming Obama-care was really the GOP’s idea.
I noticed that too. One of the talking points is to refer to RomneyCare in Mass, as if Republicans were the ones who wrote ACA. If this really is part of some grand scheme, why are they attempting to give Republicans the “credit.” Then from the other side of their mouths, they are blaming Republicans for resisting it. They really are in complete desparation over how this is turning out.
There are millions losing policies that they hand-picked for themselves and their families. Those people have the power to take Democrats out state by state. Whether Republicans will use this to get back the Senate, remains to be seen.
