Real-life Postman Pat befriends a black and white cat [video]

In one of the best examples of life imitating art we can think of, a postman called Pat has become friends with a black and white cat.

Royal Mail postie Patrick McIntyre was delivering a parcel when he was (almost forcefully) befriended by a very affectionate monochrome moggie.

The friendly feline jumped on to Mr McIntyre’s back as he was leaving a note on a customer’s doorstep and decided it was a good place to hang out for a bit.

The black and white cat, whose name is unknown, proceeded to lick Postman Pat’s face and ears.

Mr McIntyre, who does not have Postman Pat-like glasses or curly ginger hair, filmed the encounter on his phone and can be heard saying: ’It’s Postman Pat and his black and white cat… you couldn’t make it up.’

If that wasn’t funny enough, two days later he found a special visitor in his red van – a black and white (and slightly orange) cat.

This one was not so friendly and leaped out of the van before rolling around on the floor. All in a day’s work for Postman Pat.

Actually, he takes his work to his pet. (Someone’s pet, anyway.)

May well be. My late dog would jump into any open car door and give the driver a “Let’s ride!” look. The mailman found it particularly amusing.

And then he finds another cat in his van! He must have something special...

Reminds me of my black Rastus, I have to be very careful to watch him if there’s a tradesman in the street, he’s in the habit of investigating the interior of removalist trucks for example...and one day he jumped into a box on the back of the fruit and vegetable delivery truck, and happily sat there in the tomatoes while the man did his delivery run down the street.
At the moment he’s in love with the neighbour, spends most of his days following the man around the garden smooching up to his legs.

The characters are the best cats. And dogs. And people.

The Postman Pat refers to a British children’s series. May have been shown here in US

This is so adorable. I love the way the cat just settled down as if for a long rest, lol.
