This is probably why he’s doing that.
Rumblings have probably bubbled up to the president to the tune of “don’t try it”.

Theyre referencing a comment by Boykin that appeared in
WND, where he said that the notion of a military coup is out of the question.
Boykin specifically said that because of the civilian-military relationship, he did not see any prospect for a coup coming from the military ranks.
People Ive spoken to would like to see the military fulfill their constitutional duty and take out the president, Boykin said. Our Constitution puts a civilian in charge of the military and as a result a coup would not be constitutional. Youre not going to see a coup in the military.
Seitz-Wald took (p)eople and turned it into (m)embers of the military . . . talk about mendacity.

He could massacre a troop of girl scouts on the White House lawn during the Easter Egg roll, butcher them, barbecue them and serve them to the participants and he still wouldnt be impeached. And if you criticized him about it, the press would say its a black thing and accuse you of being a racist tea party rethuglican for bringing it up while licking their fingers and asking Michelle what kind of spice rub theyre using and ask for more macaroni & cheese and a refill of their kool-aid.

The trouble for Democrats in perpetually ignoring and dimenishing the Constitution is primarily the danger that others may do the same.

Not that I disagree. But, boy....I will bet he is walking that back pretty damned fast or he will find himself recalled—and fired.

Hundreds of attempts on ze fuhrer’s life were made. Only the high profile one(s) are popularized in film. While driving to his bavarian digs, hitler was driving and his chauffer was in the passenger seat. A man jumped out at a tight mountain turn and killed the passenger thinking it was AH himself. Hitler escaped unharmed. Weird stuff.

We take out the president every 4 years (or have the opportunity to). We need to continue down that path and avoid the latin america style politics.

I shared the same sentiment on FR dozens of times, but I've never said it as well as you just did. I just might steal it.

Who knows what kind of social pressure was brought to bear on Jelly Fish Spine Roberts in D.C. (District of Criminals). He might have been threatened with not receiving invitations to high brow luncheons and cocktail soirees. Only a man of extraordinary courage and principles could resist such a painful dilemma.

I’m sure he had a very good reason to speak about it openly.
