And so it begins the plentiful coverage of the 50th anniversary of the assassination of U.S. president John F. Kennedy. The date itself is weeks away and there will be countless commemorative programs, specials and copious punditry on TV.
JFK: The Smoking Gun (Sunday, Discovery, 8 p.m.) is one of the most controversial of the bunch. Made for the tiny U.S. cable channel Reelz, its a two-hour docudrama based on the book of the same name by former Australian police detective Colin McLaren. He claims to have spent years on the forensic cold-case investigation of JFKs assassination and says he believes he has found the smoking gun that killed the president. His conclusion is not the accepted story.

Yes but they were in a moving car so factor that into the equation.
“I dont know about the Babushka lady.”

She can be seen in the Zapruder, Nix and Muchmore films.
They were never able to locate her. It would have been interesting to see if she captured anything else the other films and pictures didn’t.
If you have some time, check her out on Youtube...kind of interesting that she keeps rolling even after the fatal shot is fired.
One thing is for sure though- somebody sure killed the hell out of poor old Jack that day
You just won the debate. LOL
Somebody killed him. The debate will never end.
Not a lot of money in going with the accepted story, and technically, its not a cold case.
Another thing I always hear is that he wasn't that good a shot in the Service. Expert badges are lost in the standing and squatting positions not when you have something on which rest the rifle (like a window sill).
Lee Harvey Oswald shot and killed John Fitzgerald Kennedy. Anyone who has seen the evidence and is not warped knows that.
Bush’s fault, being from Texas. /sarc.
And the little murderous leftist Oswald also killed a Dallas police officer afterwards. He was guilty as dirty sin without question and now enjoying his hellish eternal home.
LOL. Or Jocelyn Elders saying something like about “we need gentler bullets”.
“Babushka Lady” is a cool name for a band.
“The head shot came from the front.”
Anyone that has seen headshots knows this not to be true. It has been debunked many times over.
Good point.
The biggest piece of evidence that there was a conspiracy is that Oswald was killed. What tale would he have told? Why would a mafioso take the trouble to kill a lone crazed gunman and get caught?
“Another thing I always hear is that he wasn’t that good a shot in the Service. “
Which is sad to think Americans can’t do any level o research in this day of the Internet to know Oswald was a Marine that scored both Sharpshooter and Marksman during his time in the Marines. He was more than competent to make the shot. My grandmother is competent to make that shot.
Thanks, I’ll check it out.
That was my first impression of the sceen. I expected a long range, difficult shot.
It’s not.
Anyone with the most basic of rifleman skills could make the shot.
Sounds like some new Israeli invention, like that gun that shoots around corners.
I just saw the Muchmore film and it’s hard to determine if she was actually filming. She might have had a cold and was blowing her nose. Who knows.
