‘YOU COULD NEVER ANTICIPATE THIS HAPPENING IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA’
The Blaze ^ | 5 Nov 2013 | Jason Howerton

What began as a simple traffic stop ended in a humiliating and nightmarish ordeal for a New Mexico man. It won’t come as a surprise to most people why the man has now filed a federal civil rights lawsuit.

The incident began on Jan. 2 as David Eckert was leaving the local Walmart in Deming, N.M. He reportedly failed to make a complete stop at a stop sign, prompting police to pull him over.

The officers asked him to step out of the vehicle and claim the man appeared to be clenching his buttocks, Eckert’s attorney, Shannon Kennedy, told TheBlaze. It is unclear why police removed him from the vehicle in the first place. However, because the cops believed he was clenching his buttocks, they took it as reason to suspect him of hiding narcotics in his anal cavity. Police officers detained Eckert while they sought a search warrant for an anal cavity search.

“What is so strange about this case is they held him with no evidence,” Kennedy said. “They seized him to collect evidence, to go on a fishing expedition on someone’s body.”

Upon securing the warrant, Deming police officers took the man to an emergency room, but hit their first snag when a doctor refused to perform the anal cavity search because he believed it to be “unethical.”

So police tried again at the Gila Regional Medical Center in Silver City, N.M., where doctors agreed to the search.

KOB-TV outlined the disturbing series of events that occurred next, details confirmed by medical records and official documents provided to TheBlaze by Eckert’s attorney:

1. Eckert’s abdominal area was X-rayed; no narcotics were found.

2. Doctors then performed an exam of Eckert’s anus with their fingers; no narcotics were found.

This whole thing started when the plaintif asked “Am I being detained”. So Officer friendly decided he needed an attitude adjustment.

The judge who signed the search warrant should be sued as well.

Kegeling? Strengthening the pelvic floor? Or is that just something women do?

In honor of this incident and Pancho Villa's 1916 incursion, I suggest the town rename its sports teams the "Deming *ss Bandits."

This is not a duplicate thread, butt here are some earlier articles on the same event:

“I hope he gets $10 million from these idiots and serve as a warning to other idiots.”

Not nearly enough! Cops, sheriff’s deputies, Chief of Police, DA, and the Judge, need to be prosecuted. He needs to own his county at the end of the day, and the doctors need to have their medical licenses lifted. This is the most egregious abuse of a citizen that I have ever seen. Seemingly, the only person who stood up was the local doctor who refused to be bullied by the cops.

This was rape and violent humiliation. The poor guy probably said something that hurt one of the thug's feelings.

Just think. If one of the jackboots planted a thumbnail-sized capsule in this guys poop, he would be in jail and the bootlickers on here would be singing praises for such vigilant drug warriors.

Drug possession laws create magic objects that make anyone a felon at will. A perfect tool for Obama's shock-troops.

Well, there is a bright side. Colonoscopies are good idea for anyone and he got a free one. Police should go to jail though. General population.

Good luck Mr. Eckert. What you took may wind up saving all the rest of us a similar outcome

Possibly, but given the nature of the police and judicial systems I have a feeling that only the taxpayers and the doctors are going to pay for this. The city will pay up big but the officers will at best be taken of the street for a week or two (with pay) and the superiors might get a stern talking to from the cheif. The judge will see no repercussions at all. The only way Eckert will see real justice is if he uses his upcoming millions to destroy the lives of these "public servants."

I would have never thought clenching buttocks constituted reasonable suspicion. The guy could have some intestinal bug and was trying to hold it back.

Nope. One officer told him he was free to go, then the other officer started grilling him.

I read the entire filed complaint.

Perhaps, just perhaps, law enforcement may come to understand that there are reasons behind the loss of the public's trust.

Make it legal and then tax it. It is a ballot issue here in Colorado.

The bueacrats whine about how bad vices are (smoking, alcohol, MJ) and then in the same breath time demand their cut of the take.

He should get a billion. The cops and judge responsible should be shot, found guilty, and tried in that order.
