What Business of the U.N. Is the Operation of the Alamo?
American Thinker ^ | 11/13/2013 | Victor Keith

In a possible development that would have Davy Crockett, Jim Bowie, and William Travis rolling in their graves, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is considering designating the Alamo a World Heritage Site. Such a designation brings along a myriad of restrictions, and although proponents of the designation, such as San Antonio Mayor Julián Castro, insist that the State of Texas would still have authority over the site, many serious concerns of the people of Texas are not being addressed.

Ah, the World Heritage Convention, pushed by Tricky Dick in ‘72. Part of UNESCO - wonderful. (NatlGeo would call me shrill). And somehow we’ve codified that into the US Code. Color it self-inflicted.

If the United States enters into a treaty among the provisions of which is to give administrative authority over certain world heritage sites, the treaty clause of the United States Constitution kicks in and the designation trumps both state and federal law.

Of course, the leftists at the United Nations are not motivated by a desire to conduct tourists around the Adobe mud of the Alamo, they want to control the meaning and message of the Alamo and convert it from a Texas, white frontiersman's saga of courage and self-sacrifice and above all individualism, to a message of oppression of minority people of color and expropriation of their land.

My first act when I am president will be to tell the UN to get out of the US.

I remember camping there in the late 70’s, beautiful. Fun times back then.
