Predictably, the neocons are smearing her for this book.

Anyone who questions anything about WWII must be silenced!

"In 1930, Joseph Stalin appointed Litvinov as People's Commissar for Foreign Affairs. A firm believer in collective security, Litvinov worked very hard to form a closer relationship with France and Britain. In 1933 he successfully persuaded the United States to officially recognize the Soviet government. Franklin D. Roosevelt sent comedian Harpo Marx to the Soviet Union as a good-will ambassador, and Litvinov and Marx became friends and even performed a routine on stage together. Litvinov also actively facilitated the acceptance of the USSR into the League of Nations where he represented his country in 1934—1938."

- Wikipedia, Maxim Litvinov

On Halloween, I watched Diana West give the keynote address at the Pumpkin Papers Irregulars annual dinner in Washington, DC. She described in detail how our obsession with not offending the Russians hampered our efforts to curb Soviet espionage and subversion in the 1930’s and 1940’s and compared that outlook to today’s concern with not offending Muslims which stymies our efforts to cope with jihadist terrorism.

You can watch her address in its entirety here.

A day that should live in infamy

You know, when the wall came down and the USSR collapsed, everyone thought we had defeated communism. Little did we know that in the 21st Century we'd have to be fighting it on the home front.

And Valerie Jarrett’s birthday. A day that should live twice in infamy.
