Mafia leads in the JFK conspiracy theory poll

The five most popular JFK assassination conspiracy theories, as outlined by Adriane Quinlan, has generated questions and thoughtful responses from readers:

WhoDat

Garrison is the closest yet...

Nobody will ever know exactly what happened to JFK, but know these facts:

With the number, angles and accuracy of the bullets, Oswald 100% did not act alone.

Secret service assigned to JFKs car all pulled back seconds before he was shot.

George HW Bush has repeatedly denied being in Dallas Tx on the day of the shooting after multiple sources have evidence proving otherwise.

Velociraptor

I believe there was a conspiracy but that these are simply not the correct answer. There are serious flaws in each of these.

That said... Oswald alone shot JFK...the real question is who helped him and why?

2fish96

Kennedy wasn't the intended target ... Secretary of the Navy John Cannally was for not allowing Oswald to re-join the Marines after he was kicked out of Russia. Oswald, having nowhere else to turn, took his anger and a rifle to the 6th floor of the book repository.

Lots of links at the source. A poll is there too. I still believe Oswald acted alone.

Oswald was a self-admitted Marxist. The Commies had JFK done in. No one ever talks about the most obvious. This is how good those sneaky Commies were (and still are: they all left USSR in the early 1990s and settled here in the USSA).

Oswald was a self-admitted Marxist. The Commies had JFK done in.

So Johnson could go immediately into Vietnam? No.

Oswald acted alone. No one has shown a single fact to discredit that.

I believe he acted alone too.

Even if Oswald had lived and was convicted, there would still be people insisting that he was part of a conspiracy.

After Kennedy was shot but announced that he was still alive:

“He (Fidel Castro) came back, sat down, and repeated three times the words: “Es una mala noticia.” (”This is bad news.”) He remained silent for a moment, awaiting another call with further news. He remarked while we waited that there was an alarmingly sizable lunatic fringe in American society and that this deed could equally well have been the work of a madman or of a terrorist. Perhaps a Vietnamese? Or a member of the Ku Klux Klan? The second call came through: It was hoped they would be able to announce that the United States President was still alive, that there was hope of saving him. Fidel Castro’s immediate reaction was: “If they can, he is already re-elected.” He pronounced these words with satisfaction.”

For years I always thought there was a second gunman because JFK’s head moved backwards. But no way his front huge head wound was an entry point. I believe Oswald was such a Castro sympathizer and knew he had a nice spot to shoot that he just acted on his evil thoughts. That he also shot a Dallas police office that day leaves no doubt in my mind he was the only shooter. It is possible Castro was somehow involved indirectly behind the scenes. Just my opinion.

What’s most interesting to me is not whether Oswald acted alone or not, but how many additional people and organizations had it out for JFK. He must have been the most hated man in politics!

So I’m old enough to remember that there were documents sealed “for fifty years” at the time of JFK’s assassination. Have those time capsules been opened yet? Anyone know who has possession? This is where the conspiracy no resides.

I spent years also thinking that Castro could have had something to do with it but in recent years I have changed that opinion.

God forbid a similar leftist nut took a shot at pres Obama on his own. Think of all the conspiracies-—Tea party induced, Israel Mossad, Putin, Taliban, Koch Bros etc.... the list would be endless.

When you look at all the information you wonder what is really credible as almost all the proof is tainted.

The only two plausible theories to me are:

  1. Oswald basically acted alone. JFK was a target of opportunity to make a whack-job great in his own mind. But the Warren Commission report cast a lot of doubt on one of the more probable theories by the way it came out. Plus the timing was not designed to find the truth, but ensure LBJ's election.
  2. LBJ arranged it. It meets the criteria of opportunity and motive and most particularly the way LBJ behaved afterward. Who else would be giving orders to the Secret Service to scrub down the limo while JFK was being pronounced dead at Parkland Hospital? Or to hustle the body out of there and on to Airforce One in direct violation of Texas law for an autopsy? Who else would insist that a very vulnerable Jackie Kennedy be positioned at his side for the swearing in photo-op? Or suggest to her that the autopsy be conducted at Bethesda Naval Hospital (which had no forensic experts) instead of Walter Reed (which did)?

The link suggests oil men in Texas put LBJ up to it because he was a conservative alternative to JFK. How so?

When was Air America unofficially flying in Southeast Asia?

Bush 1 was ambassador to china for a bit way back.

I get my date&plotlines perilously mixed occasionally

Because it couldn’t have been a Communist (Oswald) upset because JFK was too conservative.
