When the rain comes,
they run and hide their heads.
They might as well be dead.
When the rain comes,
when the rain comes,

Laugh if you like, but Joe Bastardi is already predicting “snowmageddon” for Christmas.

Better start buying bread and milk right now.

It snows in Buffalo. Wow, that’s crazy.

Yes, ain't it. Not too long ago I read that an excavation near Buffalo uncovered evidence that Palm trees once grew here. Who knew??

No I didn’t. The Bills had to rest for a week after DESTROYING the Jets last week. :-)) They will be just fine. Not to worry...

We had icing conditions here in orange county ny.
Funny thing: not a single salt truck to be seen all day despite dozens of accidents caused by ice and driver misadventure.
The salt trucks came out finally at...10 pm.
After the ice gave way to rain and temps above 34°F.
Way to go roadcrews.
Way to go.

Can’t wait to see how long it takes the dopes here to remember how to drive in even light piddling crap like that.

I grew up in Orchard Park(where the Bills play) and then went to school at SU. I had a buddy who grew up in Lowville, NY up on the Tug Hill Plateau. Lowville and Oswego were the worst in the state for snow/wind.

For those of you unfamiliar with the area. The Tug Hill Plateau is right at the eastern end of Lake Ontario. It is the blank area on the map about 30 miles across where there are no roads.

At SUNY Oswego, which is right on the southeastern shore of Lake Ontario, they actually have tunnels and ropes between the campus buildings so you will not get blown away during the winter storms. SU had tunnels over all the steps on campus so they would not have to shovel them in the winter.
They did need to shovel off the roof of the Carrier Dome several times a season.

Another fact that most people do not know is that Lake Erie eventually freezes over almost every year(it is only 30’ deep on average). The rest of the Great Lakes never freeze over. Therefore, the land masses downwind from them get lake effect snow ALL winter. The worst place of all is the upper peninsula of Michigan.

My mom still lives in Orchard Park(about 15 miles south of Buffalo). This is the northern edge of the snow belt off of Lake Erie. The worst area is down closer to the PA border.

My brother in Florida asked me when they started naming the winter storms that hit the USA. I let him know it was idiots that wanted to push global warming and the Government to make it sound as if any type of weather is a crisis situation. up here in the UP of Michigan, we get lake effect snow squalls that drop over 4 inches, and no one is screaming that we are blown away.

The Tug Hill town of Montague holds the single day New York State record of snowfall 77 inches! Another Tug Hill town (Hooker) got 466.9 inches (about 39 feet) of snow during 76-77.

That would be me...in Buffalo...in my house.

Let alone outside.

I keep the Albany weather on my phone. I like to look at it if I even think I am having a bad day. Just as a reminder, things can always be worse.

“four inches is a battering? YAWN! I got a whopping 4” and thought about not even plowing. How ridiculous.”

No kidding! This morning 5:20am the local DFW news station reported a “battering storm” headed for Buffalo NY. The camera shot showed a downtown area, well lit that had a bit of frost on the street.
YOU F’n kidding me? On DFW TX local news they report on light snow in NY? It just goes to show you the news maggots are feeding off of the same feed trough of information/propaganda.

“Blow”,’battering” and ‘dangerous’ do not mean what you think they mean. If the computer says it happened-IT HAPPENED! Reality MUST be made to match predictions!
Those inch deep blizzards will kill ya. Apply to FEMA now!

“Does this disaster have a name yet? Where’s the federal aid?”

There’ll be no federal aid. Snow is white and Soetoro hates the color white.
