In the summer of 2008, Dallas County commissioners discussing traffic ticket collections were jolted when Commissioner Kenneth Mayfield, who is white, used the term back hole to describe the recurring problem of lost paperwork.
Mayfields statement was immediately challenged by Commissioner John Wiley Price, who is black. Price belted out a loud Excuse me! and proceeded to upbraid Mayfield by saying that the problem of lost paperwork was the unwelcome byproduct of a white hole.
That caused Judge Thomas Jones, who is black, to demand an apology from Mayfield for his racially insensitive analogy.
This dust up provided a keen insight to the precarious state of race relations in America and the obvious need for change.
Those who believe in fairy tales thought that Barack Obama, although the least qualified candidate for the presidency in decades, would bring healing to America in the area of race relations.
Unfortunately, Obamas post-racial America is not even close to being reality, partially because of missteps by Obama himself.
It was he who accused a white police officer of acting stupidly for arresting a black man who appeared to be involved in a crime.
In addition, the Obama administrations refusal to prosecute New Black Panther members for voter intimidation during the 2008 election serves to deepen the wounds of racial unrest and distrust.
Clearly, when it comes to race relations, Barack Obama is no healer nor even a reasonable voice. He would do well to heed the counsel of black entertainer Bill Cosby by keeping his mouth shut.
What to do, then, about the day after Thanksgiving? Traditionally, that day heralds the start of the Christmas shopping season, and is known far and wide as black Friday.
Is that a racist term?
What of black sheep, black clouds, black box, black humor, black Monday, black magic, and black helicopters?
Indian summers, Mexican stand-offs, and white washes?
All to be stricken from the vocabulary of those who practice PC speech for fear of being of being regarded as racist?
I say to heck with it all.
Let the whiners and weasels debate the issue all they want.
Just dont get in my way when I have that $500 46″ HDTV in my sights on Black Friday, mate! - See more at: http://blackquillandink.com/?page_id=9919#sthash.rwaV4Gmr.dpuf
Flashback: The Views Joy Behar Claims Its a Little Racist To Call It Black Friday
In honor of Black Friday I bring you, great moments in journalism, featuring dimwit liberal Joy(less) Behar:
Behar: Isnt it a little racist to call it Black Friday?
Goldberg: Well, I would have called it African American Friday, but I feel thats taking something away from it.
Behar: But theres a negative connotation to it? Or does it mean something else?
Goldberg: No, its like when you make all the money. Youre in the black.
Behar: So its positive?
Goldberg: Yeah. Its in the black, so its a huge, great thing.
Behar: A lot of times, like blackmail is negative, black sheep.
Commissioner John Wiley Price’s and Judge Thomas Jones’ stupidity is so enormous that it might form a black hole (astronomical term, leftards) of stupid. /spit
Was wondering how long it would be before they got around to this myself.
Is a white person calling it “Black Friday”? Then it’s racist. Get this straight: Anything white people do, think, or say is racist. Even if a white person is just sitting on the couch doing nothing, he’s subconsciously racist.
Crimethink. Coming to a strip mall nearest you.
I wish to God we'd have picked our own cotton.
He is aiming too low. You can get a 46” tv for around $300 on Black Friday.
Who started it calling it “black Friday,” anyway?
Which media outlet will be first to start calling it “African-American Friday.”
Yeah, it’s racist. Everything any white person does is racist. Haven’t you been re-educated yet?
Some black people act like they own black.
I hope so!
Blacks should be proud of their heritage. They shouldn’t play the victim. At least that’s my opinion.
Crazy. All my long life, if you were in the black, you had money, your balance sheet showed the total balance of money in black ink. If you were in the red, you had no money or owed money. On the balance sheet, if the total balance was in red ink, the account had no money. A hole is a depression in the ground which may be shallow or deep. A hole in a piece of fabric means there is an empty space in the fabric.
It looks as if the problem is, blacks have not seen a dictionary as they are lacking in definitions of words, making up their own definitions as they go.
Sheesh. It’s an accounting term. On a ledger you use black ink when you have a positive cashflow. Red ink for when it’s running negative. Ward Churchill probably has a problem with the latter, but I don’t.
His stupidity is enormous. In fact, someone that stupid should be disbarred nevermind be a judge.
Then there’s the moron Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA) who thought Guam would “tip over and capsize”, who should be expelled.
Having idiots in these positions of power is unacceptable.
Yes, Robinson Caruso’s man Friday was a black racist.
Next question.
Having an opinion is racist. ; )
