Although Black Friday is known for mall parking lots filled to capacity, Wal-Mart lines that stretch for days, and 10 AM traffic that looks a lot like rush hour, don't forget that it's also a day when gun stores sell guns cheap--and ammo to match.
For example, Shooters Supply in Louisville, KY is selling Smith & Wesson M&P15-22 rifles for $299.99. When Breitbart News reviewed this particular rifle on October 13th, the best price we could find for it was $499.99.

I haven’t bought ammo in years, I feel like I’m getting gouged when I look at having to pay between 50 cents and a buck a round for just about any ammo. Geeze, less than 5 years ago Wal-Mart was selling a white box of 100 rounds of 9mm for $12. I could get 1000 rounds of 7.62x39 Golden tiger for 88 bucks and $11 shipping.
I’ve been shooting out of my stash, and saving the casing to reload. But every time I pull the trigger, I feel like I’m sending dollar bills downrange.
You need to get into”Re-Loading”!

You can make your own ammo for about a hundred bucks. Virtually everything you need to get started.

I shoot as much as I want now without thinking of cost. One day I went out and shot 200 rounds of 45 ACP. Before I reloaded, this would have been unheard of.
I wonder how the ammo situation will be, considering the last lead smelting facility in the U.S. has, or will be soon, closing down.

I may be old school, but my revolvers do not fire copper-anything, or Plus P anything, just standard pressure loads of full and semi-wadcutters. (That means no ‘buffalo bore nothing!) They’ve been working factory loads since the 1930’s.
Best price now for Golden Tiger is $230 / 1000. Which is why I’ve been sitting on my 22LR stash and practicing with the Saiga. Who would have thought?
Our children and grandchildren are so getting screwed. If our course isn’t corrected before my generation is gone, I doubt that it will change for generations....at best.
Is there a how to book you would recommend for reloading?
No different than most steel manufacturing having left this country in the last 30 years. These are international commodities just like oil, and are bought on the international market,

These days, that’s special. Luckily I picked up some that a widow had just brought in to a local shop the previous day to when we went in. Couple thousand rounds right before the prices took off. She apparently was “unloading” her deceased hubbies things. The shop owner inquired as the when he passed. Her answer: “Yesterday.” LOL! True story. I guess she needed to do something while the funeral arrangement were being finalized.
Hornady has an excellent section in the beginning on reloading. I also have the Lee manual and think that has a good section too.....think that most do but can only attest to the ones I own.
You may also want to check out ultimatereloader on youtube. Before I started reloading, I watched videos and read books, I never saw anyone reload in person. Ultimatereloader is about as good a tool for learning as you will find IMO.
It’s much less complicated than one would think.

If you're just starting out in reloading, it's always a VERY good idea to use a single stage set up, just to learn what you're doing.
But eventually, if you find yourself shooting a lot more, you'll want to upgrade to a progressive press, and I can't say enough really great things about Dillon Precision!
