In my 40+ years behind the wheel, I've had a few power steering pumps and high-pressure hoses fail/leak/malfunction. Never caused a real problem.
This accident was caused by speed way too fast for conditions.

In my 40+ years behind the wheel, I've had a few power steering pumps and high-pressure hoses fail/leak/malfunction. Never caused a real problem. I'm guessing none of those failures happened in a 610+ HP V10 mid-engined RWD car that only weighs 3,000 lbs and is notorious for loss of control.
