House reauthorizes ban on undetectable, plastic guns

A bipartisan majority in the House voted to extend a bill banning plastic guns or other guns that would not be detectable in a metal detector or x-ray machine on Tuesday.

The Undetectable Firearms Act, first passed in 1988 and renewed since, is set to expire on December 9. The act prohibits the manufacture, sale, or possession of firearms that do not contain enough metal to render them detectable by metal detectors and hence could be brought into airports or other secure places.

The bill required a two-thirds majority to pass, and it passed easily by voice vote.

Appears that the rumors of the majority in congress have actually had lobotomies is no longer a rumor. What idiots.

Let us also ban unicorns, griffins, and pink ligers.

Our government is so incredibly stupid. My God, how the Founders would be ashamed of us.

This is just “feel-good” legislation.

And it’s “feel-good” legislation that has no real impact to the gun-owner.

Meanwhile, the drooling, foaming hoplophobes, like upChuck Schemer can go orgastic thinking they’ve actually had an effect on anything.

I see it as a win-win.

We lose nothing, they gain nothing, but they think they made a gain, because they’re too stupid to know the difference.

Well, the high fives must have been flying over re-authorizing this bill. Gosh, without it, someone might break another law and bring an ‘undetectable’ firearm into a secure area. Good thing there's now another law standing between us innocent unarmed bystanders and those who would willfully break laws...

Why is it that every time I try to follow a liberal position, my brain starts to hurt?

This is a solution looking for a problem that doesn't exist.

What's up next? Perhaps a bill banning phasers, photon torpedoes and disruptors.

What’s to worry about?

I’m sure the Criminals will follow this law like they do with all others.

I can just envision a gathering of al qaeda terrorists lamenting that it’ll be against the law for them to use such weapons and cursing that they now will have to make other plans…

Well, I’m normally very pro-2nd Amendment, but I can see the House reacting to the situation where John Malkovich tried to shoot President Jim Curley with that porcelain gun, only to have heroic secret service agent Clint Eastwood jump in front of the bullet.

No, wait...that’s still not real.

Well, this one is actually incredibly easy to enforce, because plastic, undetectable firearms don’t exist, and nobody has any clue how to make them exist.

DefCad Liberator. Ammo is still metallic, but that won’t slow Chuck Schumer et al down one iota.

Yeah, you go ahead and try to print that entirely out of plastic and shoot it. I’ll stand waaaaay over here.
