How close to any borders is this, how many of those were possibly out of staters/out of country types, and how much was genuine stupidity?
And how many of them learned to drive here in ny?
Some people have no idea what their car is telling them. It’s just a transport-box designed to get from point A to point B with a minimum of input from the driver.
Of course, our silly, Mickey-Mouse “drive-around-the-parking-lot-and-win-a-license” driving tests have a little to do with it as well. A half hour on a wet parking lot with a skilled instructor would do far more to ensure people know how to drive than maneuvering between some cones.
Think of it...to be able to drive in these conditions, the most important skill many of them had to master was learning to PARALLEL PARK.
And from the looks of the video, they weren’t even doing that right...
Too many folks:
1. Drive too close, with a plan of diverting off into the shoulder when the SHTF. That would work if you are the only fool with that plan.
2. Don’t move their cars out of traffic after an accident.
