It's such a shame that the proper moral perspective is so unusual these days that it warrants a news story.

Minor detail, but since it was cash in a white envelope, how did Perez know whose money it was?
Bravo to Mr Perez, God is smiling down on him.

Character if often hidden. In this case, it showed. Someone give this guy a good job because he is the kind of employee you need.

What kind of person accidentally leaves $5000 in a restaurant bathroom? Good for this busboy to have nothing to do with this sort of cash.

Bloom had withdrawn the money after a scam artist tried to get him to send cash to South America. Bloom never followed through, and instead had the bills tucked in his shirt.
His daughter-in-law had talked him out of falling for the scam. She dined with him at the restaurant the night he lost the envelope. When he missed it, she returned the restaurant and discovered that Perez had found it.

The lesson here is treat your help respectfully. I’ve seen the opposite, and when an object was lost, it wouldn’t be returned, not out of greed, but out of spite.
