It comes out that the government is spying on people on FB. Now other sites are requiring FB accounts. All the volunteers need to get in line. The railroad car will be here soon.
Gannett did the same thing with the reional newspaper here. Monday morning, looking to make comments... nope! The newspaper demanded that I create a Facebook account, to read the comments.
Here’s the kicker. My published article showed on the Saturday before that Monday! I could not go see if folks had placed comments at my own published article, without the creation of a Facebook page.
I informed the Features Editor, that this new system, locked me out of my own article. As to her response, I refused the rights to any of my articles, withdrew any future articles that I WAS going to submit, and of course, gave her directions how to get there.
And in the time since, the CIA has admitted, that it was THEY who devised Facebook!!

Our local Gannett newsrag did that a couple of years ago. The kinds of opinion columns and letters to the editor that used to get hundreds of responses in the online forum now get a dozen or so, and those which garnered dozens in the past get a few or none. Says something about FB.
I'm not sure, but I am one! A couple of sites I visit use it and I signed on so long ago I forget why.
