First handgun I shot was my dad’s Ruger 22 Revolver, which has now been passed down.
I need to get a CT CCW.
A .357 in that size and weight will be a bitch to shoot. Just sayin’. Bring some good form and strong hands.
Ruger makes a quality item, often incorporating “state-of-the-art” design.
I’d carry one of these in a heartbeat and never worry.
Snubbies are dependable simple pieces for back-up/secondary or non-permissive areas for concealment. Also nice to stick in shorts for going out to the trash or picking up mail; however I’d never pretend a small pistol with it’s limitations (power, capacity, accuracy) is a talisman that can ward off evil. I’d recommend the dependability though over many small semi-autos. +P .38 special hollowpoints for loadings, however on the last shot in the cylinder I place the old school buffalo bore +P 158 grain wadcutter semi jacketed hollowpoint load so in high stress situation I know gun’s empty.
I've shot one before, and it's not as bad as you might think.
So you must have strong hands and good form.
But I think my point is valid. These hand cannons that some people have are not the choice for small handed folks or new shooters. As we used to say as kids “bring the biggest gun you can hit something with”.
We need to steer the novice to a firearm that is appropriate for their size and skill rather than ego serving.
