NFL officials are ready for all contingencies related to Super Bowl XLVIII at MetLife Stadium. Even if it means staging the game on a different day. Possibly even a different week.
Although every Giants and Jets game has been played as scheduled at MetLife Stadium and Giants Stadium -- going all the way back to 1976 for the Giants, to 1984 for the Jets -- officials have plans in place for a weather event that could change the day of the game from its scheduled Feb. 2 date.

In related news, the NFL has decided the new uniform for QBs and wide receivers will be a dress.
They will also require straitjackets for all offensive linemen.
Just making the game “fairer...”

You’ve got to be kidding!
What about people who have paid for their tickets and travel in advance? Chopped liver, I guess.

I think when they say snow, they are talking about a blizzard.

Football was meant to be played in the elements. Suck it up NFL. You scheduled a February game in Jersey. Go play it.

Obviously they still play football in the snow (didn't get to see that epic Eagles/Lions game recently but saw highlights of it. Looked like a hell of a lot of fun for fans and players alike, if you ask me) Why WOULDN'T they still play the Super Bowl in the snow? Hell I actually ENJOY watching snow games, cause it looks (to me at least) like the players magically turn into 8yr old kids having the times of their lives playing ball in the snow.

I remember a Steeler game back in the 1970s where it was snowing so hard, the yard lines were obliterated.. There was a squall about the time the Steelers were going to attempt a field goal. The game had to stop. No one, including the kicker, could see the uprights. When the storm passed, the game resumed, and the field goal was good.
When did the NFL become a bunch of wimps?

Bunch of babies.
The Ice Bowl was a classic.

It was an act of idiocy to schedule a Super Bowl in an open stadium in a cold weather site in February. Holding it in the squalid anal regions of the East Coast just added insult to all the fools who are about to mortgage their homes to go see a spectacle that is only remotely related to football anyway.
I'm rooting for 30 degrees and freezing rain myself--good and sloppy and muddy.

Absurd. I remember as a young person watching great football games played in blinding snow in NY and in Green Bay.

First, playing the SB in a. Old venue is stupid. Who wants to spend a week in Defroit in January? Playing outdoors in that weather is even more moronic.
