I had a lesbian assistant principal that was the exact same. Constantly berating everyone who challenged her, she was responsible for 40% of the teachers leaving the school that year.
Though the school was a very urban and difficult school to teach at, it had a very professional staff that was interested in the education of the students - she destroyed that framework as a new group of teachers came in. This year a young student was shot at the school, something that never happened before.
