LAS VEGAS (AP) Las Vegas cab driver Gerardo Gamboa thought someone left a bag of chocolates in the back seat.
But this stash turned out to be cold hard cash.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports Gamboa was making a pickup Monday at the Bellagio when a hotel doorman noticed the brown paper bag and handed it to him.

Brown paper bag with $300,000 in it? I don’t think I would have even told my mother about that, let alone, the news media.

Or put it on Oregon State. :-)

I would have sat on it a while, make it didn’t belong to an orphanage or for someones operation etc...then jump on the boat and look for a pacific island that needs a hammock.

Wonderful to think that the Las Vegas cabbies are so honest.
That is a great Christmas story if the person that lost the cash gives a great tip to the cabbie;)

"Las Vegas police and casino officials were able to link the money to a well-known poker player they declined to identify." The money was traced to a gambler. My bet is the tip will be substantial. Those guys tend to be respectful of working folks and generous with gratuity.

$300,000 just left lying around. I would be worried that it was from drug runners, the mafia or some other criminal organization like the DNC. Definitely too hot to keep if the bag man remembered where he left it.

You are exactly right. This past summer, my nephew worked security at a racetrack. A few guests were not ready to leave the bar at closing time. The room was secured and the guests were allowed to stay as long as they wished.
When the guests were leaving, they gave $100 bills to the staff.

Definitely too hot to keep if the bag man remembered where he left it.But, since it has become public knowledge, whoever steps up to claim it will have some 'splainin' to do!
