Suits me. Alabama has been begging for a playoff now for the last three decades. If Auburn gets past FSU next Monday, then I expect the SEC string of national championships to extend into double digits.
It is also worth noting that in the 16 year history of the BCS Championship game, only three times did a Pac-10 team make it to that game. Meanwhile, Auburn will be making the 11th SEC appearance in that span. For the previous 10, every single one walked away with the championship with the exception of LSU in 2011 (who lost to another SEC team). If the Pac-12 was as superior as you say, don't you think they would have positioned themselves to play in more BCS title games?
In that 16 year span, the Pac-10 won one title which they later vacated because they cheated. Compare that to the SEC's nine titles, won by five different teams.
I should have read your post before posting. Ditto.
my main premise is still intact
ACC stinks and I’ll take Aubern over Fl st
He won’t be able to “back it up” in the NFL. I can’t wait till they get one good hit on him. He is a rude spoiled little rich brat.
As usual your facts and logic are spot on. The SEC is a great football conference, I was just having some fun with you die-hard ‘Bama fans. Good luck to the Crimson Tide tonight!
Manziel is a calf-roping bull-rider. He’s got a level of toughness seen in the fiercest rodeos.
I used to (rodeo and) play football against some big guys, but it was the little West Texas calf-ropers who hit the hardest.
They punch way above their weight and quickly *earn* your respect when you are on the other side.
It’s not something that shows up in the stats and charts. You have to experience it to appreciate it.
One example of that sort of small toughness would be Charlie Waters, the Dallas Cowboy’s safety from the 1970’s.
Well, somebody found a calf-roper they could turn into a QB.
Enter Manziel.
As much as Auburn hurt me when it beat Oregon(was born there) for the so-called “Natty”, I must root for Auburn vs FSU (UF Gator fan since around 1983). But FSU(the only real team in the FB side of the ACC) will win it.
Thanks, we’ll need it. I am not feeling confident about the game. Alabama has a tendency to fall apart once their national championship hopes are dashed. The only hope I have right now is for Auburn to beat FSU and then be placed on probation the very next day.
Well, your pessimism proved true, Bama just didn't have it tonight; they fought back bravely but too many miscues cost them.
You know the old saying...There's always next year...
ACC wins.
