Robbers struck a pizza store New Year's morning using a fake gun and a sock and then ran straight into a Rockdale County Sheriff's Office traffic stop where they were caught.
Jacquille Eltonio Chisolm, 24, of Covington, and Keyanah Smith, 19, of Conyers, who was driving the car, were both charged with armed robbery.
The suspects struck the Domino's pizza store near Honey Creek, on Ga. Highway 20, on Jan. 1 around 2 a.m.
According to Rockdale County Sheriff's Office reports, a black male and black female, later identified as Chisolm and Smith, came into the store two times without ordering anything and asking what time the store closed.
When the couple came in the third time, Chisolm reportedly pointed a sock at employees with an object inside shaped like a gun and demanded money.

I disagree, you don’t try and stop criminals as it can escalate the situation unnecessarily. I would only try to stop a criminal, if I was confident I could do so.
It would be far better for a business to do whatever it can to collect as much information on the robbery when it happens. I good video camera security system will get far more accurate information than any employees could remember.
Also, there are common-sense steps that can be taken to reduce the chances of being robbed, like keeping only the amount in the till necessary to conduct business and dropping the excess cash into a safe that employees cannot access. That alone, if it’s posted, will prevent more robberies than just about any other thing, including carrying a gun because it removes the temptation to rob, if the amount taken barely pays for anything.

Depending on age and maintenance, socks can be deadly.
When I was working for 7-11 in Anchorage I had a guy come in twice in a matter of 3 hrs. Both times another guy waited in the car outside. Both times the guy that came in did buy something small, the same thing both times. I got red flags and as he left the 2nd time I made it obvious that I was dropping all my cash into the safe. After they left I called in a report.
It is important to be aware of suspicious behavior. I am pretty sure they were looking for someone who wasn’t paying attention.
One of the best things you can do is arm yourself with a good firearm and learn and be prepared to use it.

Couple years back two young thugs traveling through a rural area here decided to rob a fellow blacks country store as they were traveling back to Philadelphia. It is typical of many country stores in that the owners live in the rear of the store and the owner had been rabbit hunting and was in the rear undressing when the robbery occurred. Hearing his wife’s protest he rushed out with his 12 gauge as the young robber was running for the car. He shot him with the double barrel but it was only number 6 shot. They made their getaway but one had to be dropped off in Richmond at the emergency room while the partner fled. The cops were waiting for the other robber when he arrived back in Philly. The only comment from the store owner was that he wished he had used buck shot.
