Some info has come out just recently and I posted it to chat.
It got pulled with a comment by the Admin Moderator "No link, no dice"
Since when does a chat item require a link?
If all a sudden, an earthquake happens, can we not post it because of no link yet?
Honestly I can't see posting any breaking news with these types of undefined rules.
But it's ok if some Korean guy gets eaten by dogs and we get 14 threads about it...
Comments? Does anybody know the rules?
I’ve seen people just use the FR site as a link reference in vanity posts and the like. I think I’ve done that myself, even.
if it is news , you have to post a source where you got the info
if it is OPINION then you can post a ‘vanity’ in the bloggers section
Did anyone in this chat post get ate up by dogs?
Just post the announcement as a vanity. That should be okay.
After over a month of delay, WSDOT has released the findings of what is blocking Bertha, the worlds largest ever tunneling machine. An eight inch steel pipe, it is actually a drill casing from when original early wells were drilled to test the feasibility of the tunnel.
Local radio news is reporting that info about the pipe is actually contained in the project planning documents, and that WSDOT actually realized what it was around Christmastime.
What they will do now is yet to be determined.
The tunneling machine has apparently sustained significant damage.
I’m guessing you cut and pasted something from some other source. Unless it was some email or Facebook chat, you should provide a link to it.
And then even when you do all that - we are left reading some mindless drivel until a kind and gracious Mod “No Thanks” it for us all.
Cheers.
OK, which one was so quick with the mouse?
My sister got bit by a moose once.
OK, I take it back. Sounds like news, should be sourced. Turns out *I’m* the one with the quick mouse...
:^(
Well, it is news, but no hardcopy yet, it is being released in a live press conference happening right now.
I don’t have time to post stuff only to have it pulled. And alot of FR’s rep is based on it being a good “breaking news” site.
But if that is just something that is at the whim of whatever moderator at the time, that doesn’t seem to work, as far as breaking news goes...

Yes I think so. I think some blogger did. He was blogging and about it and....
(excerpted)
And as a reminder to all, leaving out the link to what appears to be a news item makes it look like the Excerpting Guidelines are being avoided. So it’s best not to do it.
I composed it myself based on what I am hearing on the radio right now.
While she was eating a slice of cheese?
I found a couple stories about it, just using Google.
Missed that one, got a link?
I’m not being defiant, and I can appreciate that.
And in my time here I have NEVER posted something that turned out to be false or deceptive.
There needs to be a way to post breaking news, and have it sourced at a later time when the hardcopy becomes available.
Another problem is that one of the main news sources in the PNW (KING5 news) has just been bought off by Gannet. So how does this get handled?
Oh. In that case. You should take a shower and check back later for more details?
You’re no newbie. You should know these things.
