Bart Starr/Jimmy Taylor/Paul Hornung....greatest pro backfield ever. Case closed as Archie would say.
I have never seen a back who would run over defensive players like Jim Taylor. Elijah Pitts was another good one who had a cat like quality to his running.
I say this as a proud Packers fan who love Lambeau to death.
Our game was supposed to be blacked out, but a corporate donor stepped up at the last minute and purchased the remaining tickets. I live near Green Bay, and the tickets weren't selling because of the cold (and the economy). You have a new generation of fans that aren't going to show their chests on national TV. They can watch the games on their 80-inch LED TV in their man cave and have all the beer, snacks, and the bathroom right there.
Dan Fouts says his fingers still hurt from that game.
My son and I are going to the Cincy game! Hope I don’t freeze to death.
My parents went to the NFL Title games in 61, 62 and the Ice Bowl. They’ve always felt that the title game in 62, at Yankee Stadium, was by far the coldest as the wind was cold and damp and chilled them to the bone.
My Uncle played in “The Greatest Game Ever Played” the 1958 Championship game, starting DB for NY. Another very cold affair.
Who was your uncle?
Being a Chiefs fan, yesterday’s Colt-Chiefs game was the coldest I’ve ever witnessed and I was sitting at home.
On the flip side, what were the top ten HOTTEST games in NFL history.
Other very hot (100 degree plus) games occurred in Dallas, Houston, and LA and probably in Miami.
