Longmont 2-Year-Old Tests Positive For Pot

LONGMONT, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Longmont are trying to figure out how a toddler got her hands on marijuana that made her sick.

Two year old Evelyn tested positive for pot and ended up in the hospital but her mother doesn’t know how the child came into contact with the now-legal drug.

Evelyn’s mother, Aida Hernandez, believes the child ate part of a cookie she found on the ground in the grass outside of their apartment.

“It was brown, like a chocolate chip cookie,” said Hernandez.

All very good points. The idea that an authority should step in, when a reasonable cause is found, to insure the well being of children in their own home is a natural impulse. Unfortunately the reality is that too often the authorities charged with doing that cause more harm than conditions in the home were. And too often in homes where no harm existed in the first place.

Believe me, right about now I have WAY more important things I have to worry about than whether or not you have a meth lab in your garage or anywhere else on your private property, so at the moment, at least, no, not really.

I am sure there are, I do not know why you say that. Especially if you count those who did it at least a few times in high school, college and/or any other time in their 20s or early 30s.

Nobody is ok with that, and that includes virtually all libertarians, including even big L Libertarians in the Libertarian party. That is, unless you or anyone else here can show documented proof that big and/or small l libertarians have expressed approval of giving drugs to two year olds.

“Anyone” is a very strong word, and, additionally, there are some pretty successful people here.

I’m not trying to nit-pick and neither am I mistake-free, but words mean things and what you post here will be taken more seriously if they are chosen with care.

TMI for a valid alibi - that's akin to saying that she watched her daughter pick up and eat an unknown "brown" substance and did not stop her. I hear dog poop can look like Tootsie Rolls too.....
