My view on guns and gun control in the U.S. (Vanity)

Posted on 01/05/2014 7:42:01 PM PST by StormPrepper

I finished watching this exchange between a Navy Seal and Piers Morgan

And I'm getting irritated at all the dodging around I keep seeing everyone doing about the 2nd amendment.

The 2nd amendment is not there to protect hunting or sport shooting. That's the argument that people use to avoid the truth.

The 2nd amendment is in the Constitution for the express purpose of protecting the Constitution. As long as the people are sufficiently armed, the power will always ultimately reside with the people and not the government.

That was the intent of the founding fathers. It had nothing to do with hunting.

It's time people started standing up and stop being afraid to defend this truth.

Increased gun crime is the result of not teaching morality to the children. It's about generation after generation growing up without a reason to treat each other with dignity and kindness. Being a good citizen for a reason. Thank you public school system. (I home school thank you very much)

So yes Piers, an AR15 has a use in civilian hands. It's to protect our country from itself. It is the last line of defense for the rest of the Constitution.

If we're not armed then we are no better than off than the citizens of North Korea, China, Cuba, etc...

If I knew how to post the....

You can learn the code to post images in half the time it takes to grab a cup of coffee from the kitchen.

Here's a Free Republic thread that will show you how easy it is:

That is one of the best readings of our 2nd Amendment rights that I’ve ever seen posted on this website. Please save that and post it regularly.

Why is that difficult for people to understand?

I know these people because I've had to deal with them many times over the years.

3 years ago while walking through my neighborhood, I had a liberal call the police on me because I was carrying a Jo staff. (3ft staff). It works great against dogs. 3 cop cars showed up. Long story...cop ended up chewing his butt good for wasting their time. It's not illegal to open carry a piece of wood.

It's fear. They live in fear. Everything is emotional with them. Fear is a strong emotion. Even me carrying a simple straight piece of oak, makes them wet their pants.

There are two types gun grabbers. First is the hypocritical short sighted idiot like Bill Maher. He's a committed gun owner. He has admitted to owning several guns for personal protection. But also wants a gun registry, etc. He doesn't get that it's dangerous to know where the guns are it's also dangerous to be able to see where guns aren't. Let's just show everyone where the defenseless homes are located. These idiots also think that big government is their friend.

Second, is the bed wetter. They live in fear of everyone else. I know people like this. They are afraid to confront neighbors for what ever reason because of what they imagine this neighbor might do. It's the same principle.

They also imagine that guns give you power over them and makes them feel helpless. So, they are willing to give up the rights that they will never exercise anyway to not feel that helplessness.

Anyways... that's my take on it.

If the projectile exceeds three pounds in mass and can explode on impact, the firearm should be registered with local law enforcement.

I tend to draw the line at, if it has the word "Launch" by the trigger...

A group of us got together for a gun swap at a local indoor range about 3 months ago. I got to shoot an AK47 for the first time. I liked it a lot but it was heavy. I prefer the AR15. That might sound cliche because of all the press around it. But I really do like it.

It's light, feels good in your hands... loud though. And heck, it just looks awesome. :-D

I'm best with a 9mm. I can get a grouping within 3 inches of center at 30ft. A .45 however, I won't be doing any trick shots any time soon. I can score lethal hits at 30ft on a human silhouette...but no where near grouped. Probably because of the size of the weapon.

anyways... :-)

I'm with the founders. If Bill Gates wants to buy, own, and operate a nuclear powered carrier battle group, with full complement of aircraft and munitions, (including B-61 nukes), let him do it. Just be sure to dump the sewage in liberal state's waters, and if they want to burst off a nuke, do it downwind and downrange from me.

Had GWB on 12 SEP 2001 gone to congress and declared war on terrorism, and issued letters of marque and reprisal, we would have fought like WWII and won like WWII, but no one seems to have stomach for it.

And there is a third type who want to prepare the country for an easy take over of the country with a change to their preferred type of government rule. (Think Marxism, Communism)

And there is a third type

Yes. This is the Pelosi, Clinton, Obama variety. They are the professionals. It's not emotional with them, it's cold and calculated. I know exactly what you mean and you're absolutely right.

If the mods gave me permission I would write a post on why we had better be prepping now. I want everyone to prepare. Because if you're self reliant and I'm self reliant we can help each other. I need permission because it's pretty blunt and I don't want to come of as some kind of troll...

Gun control is kind of like trying to solve drunk driving by making it harder for sober people to own cars.

I like that analogy. :)
