Why don't recreational marijuana advocates support licensed farms/corporations disbursing this?
1/6/2014 | Laissez-Faire Capitalist

Posted on 01/06/2014 10:46:26 AM PST by Laissez-faire capitalist

Why do they want dispensaries to disburse this?

Why not have monitored process from the farm all the way to the pharmacist to increase the odds of keeping this out of the hnads of young people and attach a name to those that buy this from the pharmacies, so that if any young people do smoke this, it can be traced back to the person who bought it from the pharmacist?

Maybe I didn't explain it better, but you see where I am coming from, right?

Alcohol can’t be perfectly kept from kids. You can make it yourself. It’s available everywhere.

Same for pot.

That was your statement, I am just trying to determine how far you take it.

I was simply pointing out that the WOD is a failure. I apologize if I made it sound like you support the WOD. I am an auto mechanic, not an English grammar teacher. Oops is my last name.

My household was laughing all weekend at the hysterical coverage of the new laws. As I said, nothing changed in Colorado.

You are ignorant. You “conservatives” don’t want to pay taxes but WANT big government. Oh please come and save our children from drugs and prostitution Uncle Sam.. Maybe Libertarians just know Uncle Sam can’t regardless of how much we pay for it. Maybe Libertarians are just better parents than conservatives..

Apparently civilization is a failure

Libertarians are a failure too

It is only a matter of time until libertarians are calling laws against pedophilia and kiddie porn “fascist” and “statist”.

Anyone who believes that government should allow us to drink booze therefore believes we should strap children down and inject ethyl alcohol directly into their veins.

See how easy that is?

Pot is more available to high school kids than alcohol in many parts of the country. It has been since I was in high school, nobody asks for ID when you buy illegal pot.

It doesn’t take “big government” to say people should not molest and give drugs to children.

Outlawing child prostitution is “big government” fascism in your book?

You are probably on the wrong website.

Just outlaw alcohol, pot and cigarettes.

The same arguments apply to each. Cigarettes are the most deadly over time, while alcohol and pot allow for a lifetime of decreased functionality when abused.

They should either all be legal or all be illegal. And I’m fine with it either way.

And, any kid that wants any of the three has been getting all these drugs for 40 years easily. That part won’t end.

You are the one who brought up child molestation (and child prostitution, for that matter) and giving drugs to children. What does the de-criminalization of marijuana have to do with child molestation and drugging children? And why is that your immediate response? It’s like you’re fixated on kiddie porn. What gives?

Giving drugs to children was the whole F'N point of the OP!!!

Why not have monitored process from the farm all the way to the pharmacist to increase the odds of keeping this out of the hnads of young people and attach a name to those that buy this from the pharmacies, so that if any young people do smoke this, it can be traced back to the person who bought it from the pharmacist?

I am just expanding on the definition of "big government" "statist" "fascist" that leftarians like to throw around. Where do leftarians draw a line? They don't They just complain about being asked where the line is

I’m an advocate of personal and parental responsibility. I do not wish to parent your kid, and I do not wish the State to do so either.

As a partial answer to your question, if I wish to grow a plant and inhale the vapours from its combustion, that is nobody’s business, and certainly not the business of the State, any more than it is the business of the State if I own firearms for personal protection.

Hear, hear.

In George Washington's letters home is included instructions to replace the cannabis sativa, a tall fibrous plant suitable for fiber, with cannabis indica, a smaller India plant with bushy profile yielding far more buds at increased potency. While it can be harvested for fiber, it produces less fiber per acre than cannabis sativa, it was preferred for medicine.

Only circumstancial evidence, and despite false reports to the contrary on the net I've found no hard evidence GW or TJ ever used cannabis, medicinal or otherwise. It was an ingredient in patent medicines and physician's pharmacoepia at the time, so there was an agricultural demand, and overseas trade.

Sidenote: I saw an antique doctor's bag, 1890's on Antique Roadshow, fully stocked, instruments unused. The expert opined it was a sample bag for a salesman who sold fully stocked doctor's bags and physician's supplies. It included all the drugs the doctors prescribed at the time, including opium.

All the vials were full and accounted for. Except for one completely empty vial labeled "cannabis" ;)

On this subject folks tend to get excited and say things we do not mean. Or inadvertently insult others without intention.

You and I are not the only Oops here. We just admit it! Thanks.
