Shannon is gone away, she’s drifting out to sea....

A local radio host found a dog in the bay several years ago. They brought it on board and toweled it dry. They fed and watered it then took it home. Then they took it to the vet for a checkup.
Vet told them it was a big rat.
That song gets to me every time. I’m glad this story has a happy ending.
Let’s hope the owners aren’t fish food. Nobody seems to be asking the question of what happened to them
IIRC wasn’t there a story a few years back of a couple who were kidnapped, murdered and thrown overboard by a guy who pretended to be a boat buyer?
Lets hope the owners arent fish food. Nobody seems to be asking the question of what happened to them

I was wondering about that, too.
dog’s new name? Bob
Yes, he tied them to an anchor before throwing them over.
Lots of people take their dogs out, its possible the dog fell overboard.
Happened in So Cal a few years ago. Off Newport or Dana Point IIRC.
I don’t recall a specific story, but I do think something like that has happened before. It’s a possible scenario, although the way people rid themselves of their responsibilities I can’t blame the PTB for not raising questions about a dog found in the middle of a Bay — esp. one who, according to the original story, was reported missing 2 years ago.... (if I read that original report correctly.) Very odd.
Stop! (lol)
What’s her new name???

“Dog’s new name? Bob”
Too funny, Illevrok!
How do they know the dog’s old name? Was there a tag on the collar? The article doesn’t say.
