A dog named Peanut in Jasper, Indiana, is expected to make a full recovery after sheriff's deputies found him frozen to the ground in sub-zero temperatures.
"He has some sores on his feet where he was pulled from the frozen snow," said Mary Saalman, executive director of the Dubois County Humane Society, which has been caring for the dog. "Other than being underweight, he seems very happy."

It finally got warm enough where mine actually want to go out for more than 30 seconds.
That is an absolutely adorable looking dog. Not only frozen to the ground but severely underweight. And yet it was the only dog of maybe half a dozen found to be maltreated at that household.
If it weren’t so far away, I’d be tempted to break my “no long-haired dogs” policy.

I’ve got 1 pain in the butt dog who is an irritation but she’s still well cared for even though I want to throttle her about half the time.
Whom ever is the owner should be punished to the max allowed by law and never be allowed to own another animal, fish or reptile of any type
How cold was it where you are? The colder it gets, the more excited our dog is.
Today she slipped on some unsupported ice slabs (the creek had frozen at flood, and then the water dropped down again.)

She wasn’t in danger because the water wasn’t a foot deep, but she sure was funny. And she wouldn’t cross the creek with me after that for love or treats.

It has been so cold in MN that my little dog (5 lbs.) is not forced to go outside to Pee Pee but she goes on her Pee Pee pads in the house which are changed once a day so no odor.
Today we got up to 18 degrees but its been as low as -20.
I live on a lake which is frozen but I have my dogs pretty well trained to stay off the ice. They’ll walk down to the shore with me but stop as I walk out on the lake.
We had an outdoor dog with a doghouse who would stand by the door and shiver when it got cold. We would let him in the house. He got to the point where in the middle of July he would stand by the door and shiver.

That’s funny! Dog’s aren’t stupid. A dog of ours hurt its leg once and would limp around. My wife of course would coddle it, extra treats, etc.
After a few weeks it was better and run around just fine. Unless my wife was around and it would start limping again!
God help me, how I hate people like this.
At least one of them will have a chance at being adopted into a good home. Why would the original owner not relinquish both dogs and the puppies? He/she can’t WANT dogs if this is the way they’re treated.
Another time the wife and kids came home and the dog was barking at some power and light workers. The guy said they had been working for over an hour and the dog was just as friendly as could be. As soon as the car appeared the dog started barking at the workers. I guess the dog was leaning on his shovel until the supervisor showed up.
I have one of those too. But she keeps my 90 year old MIL happy.
Some days it’s a toss up which one I want to throttle. But that would just piss off my wife.
So I just let it go.
You must have a Jack Russell.
The Jack Russell is my “good” dog. Its the Corgi mix who tries to herd us and likes to bark. I threaten to beat her with a stick but she just barks at me.
The Jack Russell does get around to kicking her butt about once a month and she usually has it coming.
Being 75 maybe I should store up peepee pads for the future.
