I see where this was removed from FREE Republic with the reason given by the 'moderator' as it being a rip off.
That's just not true. In fact it's a barefaced lie!
Do you people do any research before your arbitrarily remove an article of importance?
This was posted on GOP's site and credit was given to AP for writing the artucle, it then excerpted.
I'm developing an opinion that some of you faceless censors qualify for a position with the central socialist government.
It’s incredibly easy to avoid having posts pulled by the moderators. Number one of which is to simply follow the guidelines. Those who do not wish to cooperate with us in our endeavors might as well post elsewhere. I’ll be the first to admit FR is not for everyone.

A simple freepmail could have cleared this up with little or no fuss. FR takes copyright concerns seriously and errors on the side of caution in that regard.

Well, it probably was at least a clue hurled at the ‘moderators’ that they are entirely too dictatorial when it comes to someone who believes that what they’re posting is REAL and Proper.
As the record will show I was placed on leave, as some are today in the U. S. Army, for disciplinary action. The reason for this still escapes me.
I commented then that the thousands of posters and contributors to this website has no clue as to who you faceless umpires are.
A simple freepmail is never forthcoming as I , for one, continues to puzzle about what the removal was all about!
I think knowing the moderators here would be a great step forward, but then I will probably not be here to see any improvements.

You just don't get it, do you? FR was involved in a landmark case over fair use against the Washington Post and the LA Times. We lost. As a result, we are very sensitive about copyright issues, error on the side of caution in that regard, and we have had to deal with your violations of those issues in the past.
And as it was made abundantly clear to you by other posters, the pull was not about censorship of the topic of the story, as there were multiple threads already posted on this very topic.
Yet you still cling to your disproven point that we are dictatorial censors who wish to shut down articles critical of socialism and Obama.
That is a load of crap, and the fact that you cling to it speaks far more about you than it does about us.
By the way, there are good reasons we remain anonymous. The weather website wunderground.com recently clearly designated posters as moderators and other posters repeatedly minused their posts to make them not show up. That is just a recent example of what vindictive posters will do to openly-designated moderators.
Jim has the final decision on all actions taken, can and will reverse moderator decisions he disagrees with, and all actions are logged. We serve at his discretion.
You are not thinking clearly. I read Jim's explanation and it was a copyright necessity to remove a thread that could cause FR/Jim Robinson to BE SUED. It didn't matter what you thought of the subject matter, it was a violation of copyright law to put it on here.
I had that happen once on the prepper website where I post articles “I” write. I quoted too much material from another website, and the mod where I was posting that article “I” wrote, erased that part of the article. I then read the copyright law about that so I knew what I could do from then on if the material was lengthy - put a link to that material and not copy it. It had nothing to do with my advanced age, it had to do with preventing that website owner from getting SUED.
Owning a website requires one knows the legal aspects of having a website. I believe Jim has been sued pertaining to the website in the past and spent many dollars due to that. So, pulling an article you posted had nothing to do with you personally - it had everything to do with staying legal.

Do this. If you have a question why an article was pulled or moderated, please send your question via freepmail, or mash abuse from another thread with your question (that probably will be faster).
Our most important job is to try and protect FR from copyright lawsuits. And all of the moderators take that job very seriously.
Hint - you will get a much better response if your question does not include insinuations that we are socialists or Stasi members.
We are not out to censor conservative viewpoints. Certain topics will get pulled, such as 9-11 trutherism. And all pulls are logged so Jim is aware of them. You can always freepmail him directly if you disagree with a topical pull.
