Just watch the greasy foods and greens unless you want to spend a lot of time in the john. Not all people have this reaction. Hubby didn’t. Eats what he wants, has more of the other type issue, to many meds with IBS issues.

Not all hospitals are equal. My last ER run was for sudden wide spread pain, coming from colon, worked its way to whole body in minutes. The ER staff while nice not well trained in using IV set ups. Blew 2 veins by using to large of caths. Third vein held long enough to get the blood for a CBC. They could not establish a IV line. They kept me 3.5 days. Up stairs nurse established the IV line, very painful as the cath was to large. Dr. Ordered Zoysin works only in colon via IV, was sent down for CT, confirmed colon infection along with WBC. By that time the antibiotic had come up from pharmacy and was piggybacked into the IV line. The 4th vein blew the next morning. Ultra sound guy called in, he did a visual feel find of a 5th vein, started the to large cath stick, vein started to roll, he dug and dug at it, finally use the ultra sound. Cath to big still, lots of pain. I was never dehydrated, already had 2 bags of IV solution. Not a hard stick either if right size caths are used. They never got the pain down, not even with a double shot of morphine.

ME Male doc, little English skill could not be bothered by a female. would only speak to my husband. The Zoysin had a lot more side effects than the ‘slight nausea’, the ME doc who understood little English said, confused a need for bladder med Prydium with a need for yeast infection med. Took 2 weeks before my vision returned to my norm.

Hospital is on Mooch’s healthy diet kick, food terrible, not conducive to a person with a colon issue, all gas producing veggies.

At least you will go home the same day. Good Luck.

I use a patient board, 0’care has been a big topic. One poster said a friend just had shoulder work done a few days before Christmas, then came 12/31, that cut off his PT, pain med as he no longer had health ins.

We have been told by neighbors to stay away from the nearest hospital in our new town/county. Even the RN who lives across the street worked for them for a yr, and said it is a terrible hospital, few locals use it. Most go into Memphis private hospitals.

Yeah know that one to well, my husband’s elderly aunt in Canada, fell broke her back, and the doc she was assigned said she was to old for care go home and just die. Single payer systems are crap systems.

The statistics are on my side. Do some research.

One of the things i have learned as i get older is that I am not unique, uncommon, or unusual. If 99% of something is true, it is true for me.

Really. i am not trying to beat a dead horse. And my intention is to save your life some day. I hope you die, old, asleep, and peacefully. Just like me.

I swear I have the best health insurance program still standing (Medicare supp). Love it, and fear it can’t survive long. Time will tell.

Absolutely no arguments here about the Gainesville VA (Malcomb Randall). The best most comprehensive care I have ever received. They are timely, prescriptions are mailed or if I am there for an appointment I stop by the pharmacy. Doctors are good and up to date on everything, even the new lab is great. They always coordinate care and have excellent EMRs as you stated.

No complaints at all, by far the best VA hospital I have ever encountered.

Take care...
