Great show. Spellbinding, great acting. Yes, it’s prejudiced against conservatives, but it also shows such malevolence and corruption among the do gooder libs too. The evil wife. Kevin spacey is excellent.

One of the best shows in a long time if you ask me!
To: dennisw
Don't watch the British 3-episode version from the '80s.
Unless you want to know how it ends.

I want to smack that artist guy.... OK he is a photographer with an English accent who finally gets the main figure’s (Kevin Spacey as Congressman and Democrat Whip) wife into bed. The guy who plays him is gay

Funny you should say that. I thought the opposite, especially with the wife as head of that environmentalist-wacko group. I thought Frank was supposed to be a Democrat.

Don’t remember that guy. I’ll have to re-watch it right before season 2 starts on 2/14. I was getting it sort of mixed up with story lines in The Americans and Homeland, when it was good. I like how Netflix dumps the whole season at once.

I bought the complete first season on DVD for 6.99 this past month (after Christmas sale). Also purchased the complete
Firefly show series (syfy) for 4.99
Just finished watching the House of Cards season last night. Kevin Spacey is quite the manipulator, and his wife (Jennie from Forrest Gump) is his near equal.

The guy who plays him is gay. The guy who plays Frank Underwood is gay too. ;>)

It is a show that shows how evil liberals can be in real life.

I was quite surprised that they made Frank Underwood a democrat, especially when you consider that:
A) Francis Urquhart from the original UK series was a Conservative,
B) Kevin Spacey is a big lib
C) Reed Hastings is a big lib

Youtube has some tidbits as in teasers and trailers.
NOTE There is an older BBC series called House of Cards that the American version is based on
You can buy the set on DVD or your library might have it. Mine does.
13 episodes 55 minutes each

Reed Hastings is a big lib>>>>>>>>
News to me!! Just going by this series I figured he was conservative or libertarian. It does not show the DC Democrats in a good light

IIRC, Season 2 starts on Netflix in February.
Netflix is doing some very good ‘original’ series.

Firefly was not Syfy show. It was a prime time series on Fox before they killed it.
