A link sent to me by a family member. A unique rendition of the national anthem and worth the listen, IMO.

We had a discussion about the Anthem recently...these two renditions came to light. Very enjoyable...

Well that is a little lighter than I expected. Here’s some hard rock National Anthem:

That was pretty wild.

The bass at the beginning had me expecting a Uriah Heep version of the song.

;D

I liked Jimi Hendrik’s version better.

Apparently, Warner Bros are greedy, money grubbing agents who won’t let you listen to it.

After all, ITS STILL COPYWRITED AFTER 40 YEARS!

Sergei Rachmaninov plays “The Star Spangled Banner”

Simple and dignified. The way it should be.

Very cool. We need to see more of that kind of thing...patriotic messages wrapped in a package that young people will accept, open and listen to.

That said, I'm going to do a shameless self-plug and submit for y'all's approval my own song, "Old Glory". The recording and the video aren't nearly as polished as the Madison Rising vid, but it's a shot across the bow of anyone who wants to burn the flag, diminish the military and it's traditions, take "In God We Trust" off the currency, and remove the Pledge from the classroom. Hope you enjoy.

Rumplemeyer’s horseshoes are the best you can use
What so proudly he’s nailed onto all kinds of horses
As this stand and they smile all content in their stalls
Gave proof through the night that they wear Rumplemeyer’s

Ask the horse who owns one, he’ll say son of a gun
Rumplemeyer’s horseshoes are for me number one
That’s Rumplemeyer’s horseshoes spelled R-U-M-P-L-E-Meyer’s

Dave!

Then there’s the Brit. National Anthem which we learned as kids with diff lyrics (My country tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing)
