Two games, two players, and two very different decisions sum up the NFL’s still-uneasy relationship with concussions—and highlight why the problem isn’t anywhere close to going away for the league.

Harvin is very talented, but I questioned his longevity when he came out of UF because he is not very big and he took too many hits

And he gets migraines.

I think all football helmets should have soft plastic and foam and not a hard shell and without a face mask or eye shield.

The shoulder pads should be soft plastic, good for protection, not for a weapon.

Without a face mask you have more broken noses and stitched lips but less serious damage.

In addition, the players would automatically cut down on head to head contact.

It low because the players don’t like to hurt their heads.

I don’t think anyone could go through that without a concussion. NO hasn’t changed their ways.

We can go to the moon and back. Send rovers to Mars and we can’t make a protective helmet? How about memory foam helmets? I’m totally serious. The hard outside shell of helmets should be removed. It CAUSES more injuries than it prevents.

The leading with a helmet penalty is bogus. I cannot count the number of times I saw a RB lower his head and run into a defensive player this last weekend and it was never called. It is only in place to aid the offense in scoring more which in the minds of the NFL (and fans) equates to a more exciting game and ticket sales.

Same way with hands to the face. When is the last time you saw the refs call a penalty to a running back or reciever for stiff arming a defender with their hand on their facemask.
